The volcanic ash that brought European air travel to a standstill forced the cancellation of President Barack Obama's weekend trip to attend the funeral of Polish President Lech Kaczynski. As understandable as Mr. Obama's inability to travel to Krakow was, his choice of alternative activity boggles the mind. Seeing the sudden opening in his schedule, he and three companions headed to the links for a round of golf.
This is just the latest in a growing list of missteps, inappropriate behavior and downright odd choices by a president who seems to not only lack basic social graces when it comes to our allies, he also seems to lack knowledgeable advisers to steer him away from such boorish behavior.

Must .... not .... say ... it
Biting .... tongue
If the MSM reported these missteps as dutifully as they did for President Bush’s, Obama’s popularity would be down with Pelosi’s. Bush didn’t pull boners like this.
History will not be kind to Obama.
You have to remember that this President is no friend of freedom and the liberty and freedom that has taken root in Poland is not something to make him happy. So while he was willing to use our tax dollars to fly off to Europe again, he wasnt willing to drive to the Polish Embassy to sign their book of condolences. What a dork!
“social missteps”- you can’t buy empathy or class, can you you
I've wondered about this as well. Two possibilities, he doesn't have "seasoned" advisers, and they're ignorant of protocol and social graces...or, (and this is what I think is really the deal), he chooses not to listen to advice.
zero diddlin'
I am surprised The Black Messiah didn’t blow the ash clouds away. After all, Moses was able to part the Red Sea with his staff. ;0)
I can’t think of any worse fate than being a protocol officer in the Obama White House. I doubt if he has ever met with a single person from that office and, even if he gets the briefings, he never reads them.
After all, he’s THE ONE. It’s everyone else’s job to please HIM.
That's putting it nicely. This is actually part of an entirely intentional policy of deliberately insulting and humiliating our allies and everyone who supports freedom and capitalism, while going out of his way to give aid and comfort to our worse enemies, especially communist regimes and Islamofascist regimes. Of course, since he's an America-hating communist and secret Mudslime, that's just about par for the course.
It’s not a misstep. He simply doesn’t care.
So we are saying it was bad staff work?
While I’m critical of fearless leader’s constant tax payer joy rides, allow me to point out that FDR even managed to get over to Europe, despite failing health and silly eruption called WWII...
Bush didnt pull boners like this (post above).
Moses was able to part the Red Sea with his staff.

Obama’s inability to travel to Krakow was, his choice. Failed loser plays golf.
I think that was a different kind of staff. ;0)
Obama did ask for it when he was almost mocking God with his. “I don’t see cracks opening up in the earth” comment.
President Barack Obama. Leaders of the Republican Party ... called the passage of (the health care reform bill) Armageddon. Armageddon! End of freedom as we know it. So after I signed the bill, I looked around to see if there were any asteroids falling or some cracks opening up in the earth. Turned out it was a nice day. Birds were chirping. Folks were strolling down the Mall.
Bingo
I think he’s too arrogant to take advice from anyone lower than himself, which is everyone except those he bows to
When I hear him and see what he does, I see a grown adolescent with all the judgement and humility of a punk 14 yr old
