They should fear for the loss of their freedom just like they’ve made us fear for the loss of ours.
But, they don't. Congress has enacted laws that, essentially, free them from liability for acts they committed (including writing or voting for bad bills that became bad laws) as members of Congress.
That's a pretty substantial difference from the fear that they have put in us and we only fear their power because we are law-abiding citizens.
