New Obama Bio Strengthens Case for Dreams Fraud
The American Thinker ^ | April 12, 2010 | Jack Cashill

It surprised me to learn that David Remnick had dedicated three pages of his comprehensive new Obama biography, The Bridge, to my thesis that Bill Ayers helped Barack Obama write Obama's 1995 memoir, Dreams From My Father.

It will surprise Remnick even more to learn that he has unwittingly reinforced a thesis that he set out to discredit.

I stumbled on the reference to yours truly rather by accident. I was searching the index to see what Remnick had to say about Bill Ayers and found the first mention on page 253 in this intriguing context, "The true author of Obama's book, Jack Cashill suggested, was likely Bill Ayers."

“At Columbia, Remnick tells us, Obama was an “unspectacular” student. Northwestern University communications professor John McKnight reinforces the point, telling Remnick, “I don’t think [Obama] did too well in college.”

McKnight, a Chicago friend, wrote a letter of reference for Obama to attend Harvard Law School. Remnick assures us that Obama was a “serious” student at Columbia, just not a particularly good one. Still, Obama finessed his way into a law school that chooses its 500 new students each year from 7,000 applicants whose LSAT scores generally chart in the 98th to 99th percentile range and whose GPAs average between 3.80 and 3.95. How this “unspectacular” student got in is a mystery that Remnick chooses not to explore. As to Obama’s LSAT scores, Jimmy Hoffa’s body may well be discovered before those are.

Obama certainly did not write well when he was at Columbia. Remnick charitably describes the one article Obama wrote for Columbia’s weekly news magazine, Sundial, as “muddled,” and he is referring only to the content. The grammar is worse. As I have previously noted, in his 1800-word, article Obama manages an appalling five noun-verb mismatches, and the punctuation is equally capricious.”

I have very little talent for writing myself, but one of my sons has been blessed with the skill. Although he is still quite young,he has had a number of articles and short stories published and is currently working on a book of poetry which he says is his true passion.

I don’t understand poetry. What I do understand though is how a writer behaves. A writer cannot not write, if that makes any sense to you. After observing my son for the last 25 years there hasn’t been any time since he was about 8 or so when he wasn’t scribbling something, a story, an idea for a story, notes, notes and more notes. His old room is still crammed with all manner of things which he has been writing for the last 17 years or so.

I have read Obama’s books. They were both written by someone who writes, not someone who “has to force himself to write”.

“not someone who “has to force himself to write”.”

I think people have begun to notice that when it comes to heavy lifting, Obama’s usually not around. Voting “present”, starting a presidential bid well before his first Senate term was even over (a sharp contrast to Hillary Clinton and, for that matter, Teddy Kennedy, who really paid their dues by steady, consistent work in the Senate), handing over design of health reform to Pelosi etc. This behavior has been aided and abetted by MSM and other enablers. When before Obama has anyone been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize merely for being elected president?

New Obama Bio Strengthens Case for Dreams Fraud

"Dreams fund"? Is this the one raising money to help him find his American birth certificate?

I heard this guy on the Don Wade and Roma show on WLSAM. It sounds to me that he is applying for the Larry position.

In his 600-plus pages of surprisingly lifeless prose...

I think the word for this is "LIMP."

The silence is deafening. Can you imagine if G.W. Bush, or any Repubican for that matter, had a memoir written by a domestic terrorist that launched him into the White House ?

Non-stop news coverage until they were run out of office.

If we asked your son to show us his long form birth certificate, would he say "no"?

I don't expect your son to show us his birth certificate.

I was just trying to have some fun, because, as you know, that great writer President Obama won't let us see his Hawaii long form birth certificate.

Why won't that great writer Obama let us see his long form birth certificate? God only knows.
