I served 3 terms as a Committeeman. Don't be under any illusions, though. The local organizations can be just as corrupt as the State and National parties.

On the positive one can get elected with as few as 50 votes.

Just be sure to WALK your precinct and pay attention to every single rule no matter how silly it seems.

I served two terms as a County Vice Chair, with a conservative Chairman. It was a learning experience, there are forces within the party that cause unexpected things to happen.

When conservatives are in charge of local organizations, the corruption lurks outside the organization, the big donors close their wallets.

I was asked to run for County Chairman the last election, I refused, for several reasons, the main being, if McCain wins his primary I would have been obligated to at least give his campaign lip service, which I won’t do.
