180 days to receive care in the U.K. and in the future United States

Imagine you are injured, hurt, in terrible pain and are told that you will have to wait 180 days to see a doctor. He will be able to help you 6 months from now, but don't worry, you are officially on the waiting list and it won't cost you anything out of pocket. Would you wait? Well, if you live in England, a country with nationalized health care, that could be your scenario. If you continue to live in the United States, and the Health Care Bill passes and progresses as the Democrats have planned, that will also be the case.

A friend of mine from Arlington church, a Mr. Craig Hindle, is from the United Kingdom. This past year he broke a bone in his lower leg playing soccer. When he showed up at church in a cast we spoke about his ordeal. Instead of going on and on about the pain, he raved about the health care he received here in the Fort Worth area...

A major difference to keep in mind is that Socialist Medicine tends to be very heavily focused on health “care.”

The State is happy to hire tens of thousands of people to drive around and change bed pans and sheets and microwave meals. They’ll pay for stupid massages, etc.

Where they stink is health “cure.” They spend their money on the “care” aspect so that the people are fooled into thinking that the government is really taking care of them. It isn’t until they become truly sick and need extensive treatment (cure) to be healed do they realize that the state does not consider them a valuable enough investment.

This split is similar to what we face with our health insurance. It is almost impossible to get “major medical” which is insurance against a catastrophe. Instead, THE STATE requires that insurance companies provide all kinds of options to everyone they cover (contraception, fertility treatments, alternative treatment, gym memberships, etc.). This would be the “CARE” part. As a result, those who want only catastrophic insurance (the “CURE” part) have to pay out the wazoo for all that other crap they do not want.

Once again, it is the STATE interfering in the free market that has created this problem. And of course the STATISTS blame the free market and use it a reason to demand even more power.

He does not get it.

Obama knows full well that the U.S. healthcare system would start to collapse in a matter of months. The One and his minions would then declare that Government would have to take over the system wholesale. It’s Cloward-Piven all the way.

My daughter wants to be a doctor. Hopefully, she will be able to pursue her dreams and then help take care of my husband and me in our senior years. That is our only hope if this monstrosity passes.

Depends on what kind of doctor she becomes and what problems you and your husband have. If you have heart problems will she be a cardiologist? If she is, she won’t be able to help you if you have kidney failure, lung problems, etc. And doctors must follow the rules of the hospital, insurance, and government or risk losing their license. In other words, you are and will be in the same boat as the rest of us.

The ‘caring left’ are callous in the extreme - they are so sure in their own self rightousness that they never look to see the results of their 'caring.'

Result - communist style dissatisfaction all round with the 'free' services (which you pay for with your 50% taxes). No provider takes pride in their work and they despise their customers. And behind it all are the bosses who are more equal than the common man. Thank you SEIU!

Indeed.

When they have the power, it will be applied like a combat boot to our throats.

... But the daughter would likely know kidney specialists etc even if she wasn’t one herself. Sad to say, but connections still matter, and if are a doctor’s relative, you are still in a privileged position when it comes to medical care....
