That this bogus sideshow was never about listening to each other or about compromise was never made more clear than when Rep. Ryan gave this detailed analysis of the costs of the Senate bill. Note how at the conclusion of his talk, Obama quickly moves to change the subject. The last thing the Democrats wanted was a discussion on the facts. Instead they rolled out all the sob stories they could find on how the evil insurance companies worked people over.

Ryan has star quality. I have never seen such a well thought out, well stated argument. The guy is articulate, appealing and the kind of guy who should be considered for at least the Vice Presidency.
Something I noticed but have not seen mentioned...our dear leader called everyone by his/first name rather than by the title that each had earned and is some cases held almost as long as he has been alive, yet he instisted on being called Mr. President....very Banana Republic of his excellency.
Ryan was good. He gave all the figures and then followed up with an ambush at the end.

You can tell the Kenyan has no idea what Ryan just said, but he’s pissed!

Ryan just needs to slide into the position that obama is holding, he actually seems to have some intelligence, and has a God given brain that he’s using. I’m impressed, and the look on obama’s face during Ryan’s speech was hilarious.
Obama can not process numbers and he just met a real speaker who can.

I guess it would’ve been more accurate for me to say he (Obama)didn’t know how to respond to the bit** slap he received from Ryan.
Like Rush said, the media and Obama can’t do damage control in real time.
