Here's a Treat for your Viewing Pleasure:

“It’s been 70 years, 50 years nonstop of giving to the poor – and they still poor. Hey, when ya’ll going to wake up out there. You’re throwing your money down a rat hole… Haven’t you noticed they’re not getting better, they’re going to jail, making more babies, killing one another in Chicago, killing one another in Detroit… and their leaders are getting fatter, Jackson Sharpton…”- James David Manning, PhD

This fellow is rough around the edges but he makes some excellent points with a very perspicuous style of delivery. Watch and you will be extremely greatdul for the referral - especially if you are having a subpar day and need a "pick me up". Click the video and enjoy.

Youtube has a problem with the truth.

Deu 15:11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. "

Pro 30:14 [There is] a generation, whose teeth [are as] swords, and their jaw teeth [as] knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from [among] men.

Yes the poor are always with us. Yet God gave commands to both individuals and heads of state to give to the poor and consider the causes of the poor and needy. God also removed rulers because of their failure to do this. If "We the People" wish to continue to rule, we must try to help the poor.

That said, is just giving them money the best way to help them? Maybe not. Helping them find jobs and develop job skills would be far better. And hand up is better than a hand out. But a hand out is better than ignoring them and losing our rule of this land.

I used to teach the introductory economics class at a local university. Back in the 80’s, a family of 4 with $9600/yr or less were defined as “poor”. I used to tell my students that I could end poverty overnight. They were astonished and asked how. I told them: You get every household who makes $9600 or less, round ‘em up, and shoot ‘em.

After seeing their eyes turn into pie plates, and I got them settled down, I asked: How long do you think it would take before the guy making $9601 starts bitching that he's the poorest person in the system and needs to be helped. We then went on to discuss how, in any free market system, people are going to earn different incomes so someone will always feel poor...they will always be with us. Any war on poverty is doomed to failure...despite throwing billions of dollars at it.

The only gov’t program that SOLVES problems is the military.

We spend very little money (portion of GDP) on the military, but when there is a problem, we deploy them, fix the problem and they go back to a maintenance account in the budget.

No other program operates like this because no other program is designed to SOLVE problems.

In 1950 a bastard child was more likely to be white than black, whereas today... The left has accomplished exactly what it desired—create sloth, gross immorality, crime and utter dependency upon Big Brother. In other words, it made a thoroughly dependable group of democrat voters. And all it took was the destruction of an entire race!!

Someone once pointed out, there’s a very good reason why some people are poor: they’re not intelligent.

‘’Brevity is the soul of wit.’’ You’ve encapsulated the problem exactly. And homey isn’t the star attraction anymore as the main ‘’victim group’’. Hispanics are out-pacing homey in larger numbers in areas of population, incarceration rates , drop-out rates, dependence on social services etc. This century is going to shape up to the perfect storm as far as all this goes.

Hello everyone,

I was quite surprised that this video to which I linked at my website was -removed- within the same evening.

Below is a fascinating link by the same James David Manning, PhD explaining what has happened. He really tears it up in the last 3 minutes of the video. Watch it!
