I didn’t watch the interview, but I wonder if Medina is even aware of the Truther movement and maybe got confused with the Birther movement?
Glenn Beck: "Do you believe the government was any way involved with the bringing down of the World Trade Centers on 9/11?"Debra Medina: "I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard. There are some very good arguments, and I think the American people have not seen all of the evidence there. So I haven't taken a position on that."
He asked it more than once and she equivocated more than once.
Not that I want to defend her, but it sounded as if she was so prepared to get out her talking points about Gov. Rick Perry she simply wouldn't or couldn't concentrate on what she was being asked.
That being said, she blew it big time on a nationally syndicated radio show and did not take the chance to absolutely distance herself from the Truther kooks!
I am from Texas and her candidacy as an outsider really looked appealing to me. Not any longer!
I heard the interview, and she did not come across well.
After reciting the usual sociological self-profiling in answering Beck’s questions —you know , the usual “I’m a real conservative, a small business owner, I believe in the Constitution and gun ownership, etc. etc.” , she then couldn’t find a way to wriggle out of her obvious sympathy with the 9-11 Truther positions.....she came across as a kook, who stepped into quicksand IMMEDIATELY after thinking she’d ‘established’ her conservative bona fides/ NOT a good risk, and a likely wasted vote.
