Party of 'No'...and Proud
The American Thinker ^ | February 09, 2010 | Matt Spivey

Conservatism is about being not obstructionist, but principled.

Imagine if someone told you that even though you are a Christian, in order to get along better with others, you need to put your religious beliefs on hold until 2012. Don't worry about that "salvation" thing for a couple of years. Or imagine if you were asked to love your parents a little less because your full-hearted devotion to them is getting in the way of showing your affection for others. Wait until the next election to prove your respect for your family.

Diminishing these deeply held beliefs and feelings would be ludicrous. These attitudes are part of our creation as humans, and we hold other attitudes just as deeply because they are part of our citizenship as Americans.

If woman says “No,” and you persist with her sexually, it’s called rape. Conservatives are trying to stop a rape by the government by saying “No!”

I'm making a large sign this weekend and placing it on my front lawn (assuming I can get through the snow...) that simply reads "HELL NO!"

It's going to stay there until election day.

I think we all ought to do it, let it catch on, go viral.

“Compromising Conservatives” (i.e. Rockefeller, RINO types) still believe the mainstream media. If they are attacked in the media they think that is bad. They don’t get that the base gets ALL FIRED UP when they say “NO” and make it stick.

“The Buck Stops Here” used to be a good stance.

Now that conservatives have taken that stance against socialism/communism, it is thwarting “progress.”

Right now, the GOP has a clear mandate from the American people to be the “Party of No”. No socialized medicine, no more reckless borrowing and spending, no Cap and Tax.

You are right - but they’ll throw it all away by going to Hussein’s healthcare taffy pull.

Obama will control the format, the discussion, and the cameras. They Republicans are suckers to participate but I have no doubt that they’ll prove me correct.
