The next battle: Stop socialism

After Obama succeeds in jamming health care changes down the collective throats of his embattled constituents, his next move will be to bring overt socialism to the United States in the guise of regulatory reform.

The legislation he seeks to pilot through the Senate (it already passed the House) literally gives the Secretary of the Treasury the power to seize any company in any sector which, in his judgment, is in danger of insolvency and whose failure would cause systemic damage to the national economy (aka - too big to fail).

Here we have the Government of the United States behaving like the Mob. I can only assume that a few of the variables in the equation as to whether a business could be allowed to survive would include public statements of opinion, campaign contributions and other 'donations'

I am going to quibble. This isn’t socialism. It is crony capitalism.

The next battle: Stop socialism

I'd rather reverse it. Stopping isn't enough.

Re: crony capitalism

Means to me MASSIVE business in bed with MASSIVE government.

MASSIVE is the problem.

The same limits on the size of government & business should be the same.

GE; TV network owner + jet engine maker + light bulb manufacture +++++ = too big of a company

Big anything (except the military) is the problem.

Halliburton included.

The courts, especially the USSC, will not allow these seizures.

If Republicans want to win me back, they will get serious about defunding the left wherever possible. In a time of serious budget shortfall and shameful foreign borrowing, since when do we still borrow money from China (in the name of my yet unborn grandchildren) to send a penny to National Public Radio, or the National Endowment for the Arts, just two name two. GET A SPINE!

In other words you want to control capitalism, with more socialism?

Thats what it would amount to.

The only way we can stop what you say is crony capitalism is to start sending our elected and appointed officials to jail for selling thier votes, and thier power.

Let compitition do the rest.

What do you think socialism is any way?

Well, yes, but no.

GE should be eight independent companies;
Microsoft should be five different companies,
Berkshire Hathaway should be about 30 separate
companies. See’s Candies and GIECO insurance
are the same company?

Failing companies are not a problem if none are
“too big to fail”. {a concept I don’t buy in the
first place}.

I guess I’m just antitrust, but the free market
could take care of that too; if the people had
any sense.

Don’t get me started on public education...

Don’t get me started on public education...

Yep, I sure get you on that, public education is run by the liberals, and they teach that our liberal people in government, are eguivalent to robin hood.

When in fact the story about robin hood was meant to be a story about how the land owners who did not kiss the butt of the king, had thier holdings taken away from them and given to the kings buddies,

Robin Hood was just robing from these government thugs and giving it back to the rightful owners.

Our thugs in government are trying to rob from the rich and give it to people that it did not belong to.

And i agree that many companies are too big, but are we to think that we should give the government the power to control that?

No thanks, i trust big companies much more than big government, if they try to make me a serf i can go to another company.

but where would i go if too big a government trys to make me a serf? and they are trying to do that as fast as they can.

gives the Secretary of the Treasury the power to seize any company in any sector which, in his judgment, is in danger of insolvency and whose failure would cause systemic damage to the national economy >>>>>>>>>>>>>> I have to laugh at the continual battering that our constitutional freedoms are taking under Obama. He is a neo fascist, and America STILL can't face the fact that it was tricked into electing Obama via the "magic negro" scenario, the romantic notion that Obama would be "America=s first black president." He is not even American, and he isn't even a half president! He has no respect or liking for America or its constitution.America elected a nightmare in disguise.

Her is how this latest initiative will work if Passed:

1) Corprorations which follow the dictetd social policies of Obama, and donate heavily to the Obama neo fascist party, and allow unions to run them will NEVER BE TOO BIG TO FAIL.

2)Free Market corportations which avoid the dictates of Obama social policy will immediately become too big to fail corporations that MUST FAIL.( When ah tell you banks ta lend to poh people who can't repay their loans, you damn well bettah lend ...sort of stuff) Now how will this play out? If Obama looks like he has the support in Congress to pass this tripe, you will see a mass exodus of capital and corporations off shore. The oil companies have already left. So much for job creation. Obama wants to diminiish the job situation further so he can have his revolution.Sooon the left will rioyt=t in the streets. Thats what this is about. If ever a president needs to be reviled by the people, THIS ONE DOES!Worse than NIXON ever dared to be. Obama nor any of his Czars have the RIGHT to dictate to free corporatiosns in a FREE MARKET economy, how they will spend their money according to government social policy. THAT IS WHAT THIS IS ABOUT. If this keeps up, Obama is going to be bagged, and tagged " Send Back to Kenya, we don't want 'em," soon! And I can hardly wait to see it happen.

Mussolini coined the term 'fascism' for it.

I can’t argue with anything you have said or add much to it. I’m getting tired of trying to wake people up to this. More and more I feel like it’s about time to quietly observe events unfold and look after my own interests.
