How Scott Brown can make it absolutely, positively, 100% sure the Dems won't delay seating him..
one man's opinion...

Scott Brown is going to win tomorrow, and possibly by double digits. Given all the speculation that the Dems will attempt shenanigans to delay seating him in order to pass Obamacare, and given the cogent opinion that in fact, as soon as the results are finalized, he is indeed the next sitting US Senator from Massachussets, there is one thing that Brown should, and can do, that will make it just about impossible for the Dems to try any funny stuff.. Some time early tomorrow evening, all the networks will ahve called the race for Brown, and we should have just about 100% of the polls reporting by 11PM. Brown will deliver a great victory speech, and be interviewed by every news organization. Then the victory celebration.
Wednesday morning, at 7am, Scott and his lovely wife should climb into his truck, gas it up, then head down I-95, acompanied by a caravan of supporters ( and a whole slew of news reporters and helicopters ) drive right in Washington DC, pull right up to the Senate, ask the Capital Hill police where senators are supposed to park, and annouince that he's ready to start work immediately..
Think about it. An absolutely brilliant maneuver...it would garner national attention. Remember watching the Ryder truck drive the Florida ballots up to the courthouse? This would be 100x better.
OK, sound off..and hopefully someone can pass this onto the Brown campaign...

I wish everyone would ease up on this type of stuff. We still haven’t won this seat. We’ve got to hope the people in MA get out and vote for Brown tomorrow.

Election results will take a couple days to certify, even if they hustle (and they won’t). Until The Massachusetts Secretary of State certifies the election results, he will not be assigned a Senate parking space, IMHO.

I called my brother in Boston — he and my nieces and nephews are all on board.
I agree we shouldn’t count our chickens before we butter them, but some cautious optimism may be in play.
Of course, there was wild optimism in San Diego last Sunday morning so you do have a point...

Ted Kennedy himself was seated within 24 hours of winning.
Of course, that was back in 1962 when the process was much more efficient than with today's computerized systems.

Ted Kennedy was seated one day after winning his special election. There will outrage on a scale never seen in our lifetimes if the RATs were to delay is election.

In 2007, Nikki Tsongas (d) replaced Marty Meehan in a special election for one of the US house seats from MA. Current Massachusetts Sec of State William Galvin, certified her and she was sworn in 40 HOURS after the polls closed! As soon as she was seated, her vote over rode President Bush's veto of the SCHIP bill.
He didn't wait for the military ballots in that election.

Every poll has him winning.
He will win almost assuredly.
That said, he won’t if voters don’t stay motivated and show up.
