Taking a Stand and Getting Called Out
Accuracy in Media ^

The Washington Post's Sally Quinn's call for accountability at the White House has apparently ruffled some feathers. From FishbowlDC Mediaelite's Chris Lehmann takes WaPo's Sally Quinn to task for her suggestion that White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers and Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan step down. "Somehow, in the woolly free-associative world in Quinn reasoning, this episode seals the case that, when scandal turns up the doorstep, 'members of this administration would rather lay low and let Barack Obama be the target.'" Lehmen contemptuously refers to Quinn as "La Quinn". Ouch. Read on. Read Quinn's WaPo piece here. For Lehmann the fact that a liberal has had the audacity to criticize the White House's handling of the gate crasher affair has clouded his vision that Quinn is right. At the very least Desiree Rogers should voluntarily resign. Her refusal to do so and the White House's shielding of her is nothing short of hypocrisy by the Obama administration which not only promised an ethical administration but transparency as well. There is nothing ethical nor transparent in the way they have handled this affair to date. The media also is guilty of playing favorites, as had this been a Republican president they would have called for several scalps and probably received them by now rather than give the White House a pass and not peer too hard on the issue. That's some change Obama has given us.

We still don’t know who went joy riding in AF One over NYC last fall, do we? I have to wonder if Desiree Rogers was involved.
