WTF? Why would that question even be asked??????
Strange that they would ask that question.
The only one I’ve every got is “Nationality?”.
Nothing more.
Can anyone make sense of this? I don’t understand something, I guess.
Mike Yon is the real deal.
That’s why the Feds will screw with him. They can’t have real reporters giving out the facts to the sheeples.
I had a TSA agent get in my face and I reported him to his superior.
If he asked me how much $$$ I make, I’d tell him to drop dead and that I’d see him in court. I’d also suggest he bring a truckload of $$$.
exactly! none of their business how much you make..
When you put morons in charge of your security, this is what you get. Guys on the watch list walk on board without a passport, and guys like Yon get arrested.
good thing the border guys don’t bother the illegals coming over the southern border that way. then there’d really be trouble.

So would a response like, “significantly more than you will ever see” be acceptable?
ANYTIME you are detained by a government official who is charged with enforcing the law, you ARE under arrest, whether they handcuff you or not or actually say “You are under arrest”. The test is, “Am I free to go?”, if the answer is anything other than “Yes”, then you are under arrest.
Mark Stein talking about it on Rush’s show right now.
These order bullies would be the perfect Obamacop; stupid, nosy, and a bit sadistic.
My GF is a Canadian green card holder and they treat them far worse than the illegals who cross the San Diego border.
The questions by the arrogant US border guards?
“Where do you work?’
“Where do you live?”
“Is this your permanent address?”
It’s nice to push around the Canadians who actually are legal residents who followed the rules whey those same border guards couldn’t do squat and are laughed at the SD-Tijuana border crossing.
Two different mindsets at each end of the country.
It’s a wink and a nod down south.
I travel with a guy (Indian who became an American) that is constantly harassed and returns harassment at the border.
It’s a “chicken vs egg” thing.
Do they harass him because he’s suspicious-looking?
Or, does he act suspiciously because he’s harassed?
That guy never makes it through the checkpoints without some form of additional scrutiny.
Well - if these questions bother you - then you won’t like what happens when they start profiling people more seriously. That is ALL that those questions are.
Note the difference between “Where do you work?” and “How much do you make?” One is directly related to whether you are working the country you are entering or not - the other is just plain nosey!
I’m not understanding “border bullies” - He was arriving at SeaTac from another country?
It's easier to push them around. They've got something to lose and they'll take it.
Same goes for regular citizens confronted by the rest of the legal bureaucracy.
