Maybe Secretary Napolitano meant to say that the system didn't work before it worked.
Actually, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano who changed the term “terrorism” to “man-caused” disaster shortly after taking office this year said yesterday on CNN that “the system worked”. She added, “there is no suggestion that the suspect was improperly screened”. Apparently aside from the fact that he got on board a plane with powerful explosives on his person. This morning on the Today Show, Napolitano said, "Our system did not work in this instance. No one is happy or satisfied with that.” Which is it?

Yeah, apparently, she went home after claiming the “system worked” and either got a phone called that smacked her forehead or she did not recieve a phone call and did actually have her forehead smacked when she ran into the wall thinking the wall was not there.
In either case, she failed!
Far be it from me to say such, but any terorist attempt, whether failed or successful, amounts to a failure in the system, period. Success is when the terrorist is caught BEFORE the failed or successful terrorist ACT, Janet......................................................

She is A problem. She is not THE problem. She is a symptom of THE problem.
Resign. Sure. But don’t delude yourself into thinking that her replacement will be any better.
Cut off one of the many tentacles of the beast and it simply grows another. Or a plant analogy: these people are like kudzu.
She was worthless as US Attorney for Arizona and as governor and continues to be absolutely worthless as secretary of homeland security. It’s truly unfortunate for those of us who have to work for this clown. This country is so screwed. Just in case it hasn’t hit the news, a BP agent in Arizona was shot in the upper ankle by dopers. He’s currently hospitalized and doing OK. Just some potential Obammy voters.
Isn’t this the second, third, fourth time she’s flubbed it up?
