Snopes has nothing on it, and another site has, in part, called it a hoax. The e-mailed version was slightly more detailed, which suggested it was a genuine event.
Canada Free Press can't seem to finish loading their page after the advertisements. Anyone got the most up-to-date link?

You are right; it is very hard to get info on those, hampered as we are by PC nonsense, especially post-flying imams settlement.
I see you found the info in post 13, but for anyone else looking, do FR keyword search “flight297” — http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/flight297/index
There were a number of threads with verification on them, good work by the Marietta Daily Journal, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2401860/posts
and video of a passenger/witness Brent Brown who is also head of a security firm out of Atlanta (!) — http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2404615/posts
also check out “flight227” on United, which was VERY similar, Denver IA, 12/09: http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/flight227/index .which was reported by, it would seem, only ONE local station (acc locals): http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2406039/posts
Snopes is trying to prove “dry run”; how about if we just prove that a group of mideasterners/muslims/WHATEVER!! were disobeying direct instructions from flight crew?
Either way, their goal of terrorizing passengers/crew, probing for weaknesses and likely reactions, and lawsuit-baiting was accomplished.
