I feel your pain. They do the same kind of stuff to Mormons. I studied with the JW’s one time. It was interesting. I was there one time when they offered “communion” but no one took it because if you took it it would mean you were one of the 144,000.

Anyway, the fact that JW’s suffer so much persecution and hatred must indicate something good about you. Know what I mean?

Years ago, they use to come to my door on a regular basis. Then, I got the bright idea of telling 2 where I went to church and they have not been back. Guess they did not want to talk to poor wittle me after that. BTW, I go to a well known Southern Baptist Church here. Some guys use to come here too but when I told them where I went they stopped coming by too.

I believe you’re taking one verse out of context. I believe it was intended to mean all CHRISTIANS would be hated because of his name — JESUS.

I have friends that are Jehovah’s Witnesses. I have respect for them and their faith. I believe you’re doing a diservice to your faith the way you go about it.

My Grandmother was a Witness, and I had a LOT of discussions with her before she died. One thing I found out early, we both spoke English, but we didn’t mean the same thing by the words we said and heard.

I can’t buy the “soul-sleep” typed of concept either. If I am destroyed by death, and God recreates me, that’s not me. That’s just somebody that thinks he’s me. There has to be a soul to carry the essence of ‘chesley’, or when ‘chesley’ is gone, he’s gone forever.

“Jehovah” is a made-up word that Jews laugh at, because “YHWH” is meant to be unpronounceable, because it’s impossible to insert any philogically correct vowels between the letters. Even if one was to adopt the notion that you were supposed to insert the vowels of “Adonai” between the letters of “YHWH,” you would get “Yahowaih.” But since a W can’t follow an H (unless followed by a hard consonant) nor can an H follow a W at the end of a word, there’s really no way you could make up a word like “Yahowaih” (Or like “Jehovah”) in Hebrew. Face it, the reason “Jehovah” was used by ignorant, Rennaissance Protestants was because Yahowaih sounded too silly.
