Sheldon Whitehouse Just Wants Some Attention
Axis of Right ^ | December 21, 2009 | Mike

Fewer things in politics are as pitiful as an obscure back bench politician desperately seeking attention. Take my Senator, backbench Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse for example. A few weeks ago, he desperately tried to get his name in the headlines by using the term for one of San Francisco’s favorite indoor sports to describe Tea Party goers. That tirade didn’t exactly get Shelly the attention he craved because the Senator wasn’t smart enough to realize that when he dropped Bill Clinton’s name the way he did, the story would inevitably be about the former President of the United States and not the back-bench Senator from the smallest state in the Union. Undeterred, Whitehouse again looked for headlines last night on the Senate floor when he claimed that people opposed to Obamacare are “birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups.“ Much better. Now Whitehouse can have his Alan Grayson moment.

Conventional wisdom says that its best to ignore a child misbehaving to win attention, but I’m not sure that’s the best approach in Shelly’s case

I heard sound bytes of this guy on Rush.

Is he a little light in his loafers?

The joke is on grafting dems; there will be no free medicare.

It’s unconstitional, it is a mandate which is not backed by real dollars and the taxpayers will not put up with it.

Sheldon normally doesn’t rant like this. He’s more the button down Brooks Brothers type. Maybe he’s missing holiday parties in Newport. Maybe he should take a quick trip to the Naval War College and make the same lovely speech.

I’d like to give him some attention with the end of my foot.

Lying basterd.
