I would say it depends on the bank you are dealing with. As for my family, we are part of a credit union. And, the only reason we don’t have money in our savings account at the moment is because of my husband’s layoff... That in itself makes it hard to cash his paycheck now that he’s getting one again.
Our bank - since it mostly deals with our local economy/companies/workers - is doing just fine (still lending as usual, etc...), not needing nor taking tax dollars because they didn’t make bad loans in the first place, etc... So, if we had the money to spare I wouldn’t worry about it being in there for safe-keeping.
The thing is - if everyone did as was suggested above it would literally be a run on the banks, and it would collapse the system (a nice quick death for capitalism...). Taking money out of the banks that accepted TARP funds, or do other things that harm our country (such as Bank of America) WOULD be a good idea - but the money really should be transferred into the banks that are solid, and refused the tax payer’s monies. Taking money out of ALL our banks and credit unions — not a good idea...
As for the suggestion for W-2’s (w-4?) and withholding — just make sure you have the money to cover what will be due on the 15th. If you have any doubt that the power of the IRS lies not only with garnishing wages, but with guns - try not paying and see what happens. The gun might not be SEEN, but if they sack you with jail time, what is it that your warden and guards are holding to keep you there, ya know?
We must be careful that what we do in protest will not hamper us in trying to build back UP our nation once we again get control... That’s my opinion on this (and I think that’s probably where the mods are coming from on this one).
I always seem to be IATZ but here's a Baker Test anyway. 21 kilotons is more than enough to stune a beeber any day of the week.
