Here is video of a short part of President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, which he delivered in Oslo, Norway today. In this clip, Obama defended the necessity of war at times, and even came right out and said "a non-violent movement could not have halted Hitler's armies."
President Obama should be commended for making the case for "just war" in front of a European audience that may have been shocked (as shocked as we are) to hear him make that case, and even defend the role of the United States in underpinning post- World War II stability with our military and the "blood" of our men and women in uniform. . . . mp3 interview Tom Fife...the first time i heard of...
He’s absolutely right. Kudos to the president.
Since the Nobel Peace Prize has become meaningless, so would all acceptance speeches.
The person being awarded gives speeches every day and most of it is BS.
Nothing new here.
Looks like someone just dropped off of Code Pink's Christmas list... Will Sheehan start targeting the Amateur in Chief?
DU is not happy either!!! There’s a flaming thread about the speech.
Are we sure that’s not quote from President Bush a few years back???????? Something’s amiss here.
Does this mean he implied that Hitler was evil, and needed to be stopped? Does this also mean that historically, he condoned all US actions in WWII, including the use of atomic weapons on Japan? I have little hope...
Non-violence wouldn’t, and didn’t stop Hitler! Only a MILITARY COUP could have stopped him. KEEP LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULD OBOZO! You just never know when your moment is UP!
LEAD BALLOON.
Hmmmmmm. Same justification Bush used. Roundly rejected by the anti-war Left and America-haters in general. Be interesting to see how it’s received coming from the mouth of the Messiah.
Obama sells out both sides every day. It could be worse.
