Why is AG Holder Obstructing the Investigation of 2008 Black Panther Election Day Intimidation?
Wash Times/Weekly Standard/the lid ^ | 11/28/09 | The Lid

A particularly heinous election day event happened in Philadelphia where members of the New Black Panther Party in black berets, black combat boots, black shirts and black jackets intimidated Caucasian voters with racial insults, slurs and a nightstick. Another party member was accused of managing, directing and endorsing their behavior. The entire event was captured on videotape.

In January, the Justice Dept filed a civil complaint against the New Black Panther Party. When the court date arrived In April, a federal judge had ordered default judgments against the Panthers after they refused to respond to the charges or appear in court, basically a guaranteed win.

The Justice Department was in the final stages of seeking sanctions when a delay in the proceedings was ordered by Loretta King, who was serving as a political appointee as the acting assistant attorney general.

That ruling was issued after she met with Associate Attorney General Thomas J. Perrelli, the department's No. 3 political appointee, who approved the decision to dismiss the complaint, according to interviews with department officials who sought anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the case. (source)

The Obama Justice Department sent a clear message to groups willing to resort to intimidation for the purpose of hijacking elections. They are free to harass Americans on their way to the voting booth as long as they are supporting the right candidate.

The US Commission on Civil Rights, a federal agency, has been investigating the Justice Department....trying to get to the bottom of why the charges were dropped. But the Attorney General of the "most transparent administration in history" is not cooperating.

Because he supports what they did and knows that such thug tactics will be very useful in the 2010 election.

The next election if there are any intimidating liberal, black panther jerks, I'm sure they will find that they will be greeted by conservatives with just as intimidating attitudes that will not be easily pushed around.

I'm petite, female, fiesty & capable of getting into any liberals face with a mouth that can spit bullets!

There is also speculation that the Democratic Congress and White House will try to disband the USCCR.

Yeah, let's see them try to do that. The Repubs could (but won't) make a great deal of hay with that.

But the Obama team may simply choose to hunker down until it can stock the USCCR with sympathetic commissioners. Given the staggered terms, the present majority likely will continue until the end of 2010, when President Obama will be able to replace the chairman and another commissioner.

And they will be good lap dogs.

I'd love to see a Republican amendment to the law disbanding the USCCR that also abolished affirmative action at all levels of the federal government.

For the same reason they are not investigating ACORN and the AmeriCorps IG Walpin wrongful firing, etc. -— all it all leads back to pure Democratic Party corruption.

A minority of the commissioners is not pleased with pursuing the matter and would rather defer to Holder. Two Democratic commissioners have publicly criticized the commission's investigation of the NBPP case, deeming it "deeply troubling." One can expect that future Obama appointees will concur. There is also speculation that the Democratic Congress and White House will try to disband the USCCR.

That takes a lot of gall.

Anyone who has watched that video must admit that the NBPP members were trying to intimidate voters which is a Federal crime (one of the few Federal Laws I agree with).

Another example of why BHO brought the Clinton adm back into the WH -— long history of professional experience in denying, hiding, “managing” corrupt deeds (with the added benefit that most of them have law degrees).

Suppose KKK members showed up in Klan uniforms and carrying nooses, would that be okay too?

Because he's been told to by 0bama. 0bama fears that his involvement with SDS while at Occidental may become public, turning a lot of whites and blacks against him.

If what I just wrote isn't true, then 0bama can prove me wrong by releasing his college transcripts.

Because he supports what they did and knows that such thug tactics will be very useful in the 2010 election.

And because his dismissal of their case sends a loud and clear message to any other Obama thugs that it is OK to intimidate the opposition and flaunt the laws set up to protect free elections.
