How can our leadership possibly understand what leaders like Putin are thinking when they have demonstrated that they cannot, or, are unwilling to draw any inferences from the shooting of our military?
How can they possibly claim to be competent with an ambitious plan like health care when they cannot even understand that someone shooting our troops while yelling "allah akbhar" might be a terrorist act?
Wake up people! Stop spending your money at these businesses. Stop trying to guess whether our elected officials of any party have our interests in mind.
Vote against every presently elected official. Don't let them manipulate you via their usual methods. Vote against your current politician. The next person will care just as much. Your life will not change...just like the last election...the only difference will be that there will be new blood...people that are not entrenched in the system.
If you voted for Obama or the Old guy in the last election, you need to suck it up and vote against the incumbent.
Both sides are willing to drop their current elected official if everyone will just vote against the incumbent.
Don't let our officials con you anymore. They say whatever they need to in order to get elected.

At the rate Obama is destroying the country, with he or someone in his administration doing or saying something disastrous every day, internationally as well as at home, then voting may take too darn long. 2010 isn’t enough to but the brakes on the train wreck. By 2012 the USA will be Sierra Leone, or rather, Kenya. We need impeachment. Not possible with the current majorities, but Republicans should start getting this prepared. If we do get a more even balance due to the 2010 elections, start the proceedings the minute everybody’s sworn into office. I’m not an expert, but isn’t this possible? Even necessary. We already have grounds, incompetence.
This is a desperate situation. In one year we almost have socialized medicine, we have proclaimed to the world we are weaklings, we have the Navy fighting off pirates in a daring rescue by having to ignore the CIC, we have our President bowing to Saudi princes and telling us not to “rush to judgment” against terrorists, 10 percent unemployment in some areas, we are promoting abortion (in some cases forcing it on women thru UN agencies) all over the globe with taxpayer money, well, you know this list is long. Is it possible?
The biggest threat I see to this great land is that a large portion of the population either doesn’t understand what’s going on in Washington or they just don’t care.
I still think using the Saul Alinsky method against them will work. (Look at what happened with ACORN).
If you think they can't see the connection, you're rather naïve. But they also realize that there are many motivations and potential connections. Also, as I had hoped good people (not the perps) would learn after balloon boy, it's often important for the authorities to mislead.

I would suggest that knee-jerk black-and-white thinking is exactly NOT how we should approach Putin, et al. They are often far more subtle than that.

See above. "Might be a terrorist act" is only part of the whole picture. Was it an organized terrorist act, coordinated with an anti-American group, or was it a lone individual doing it because he has the same goals as the group, or was it a loser who looked for a way out (recall that psychiatrists have a VERY high suicide rate) and this was an attractive way (guaranteeing paradise)? Was it a little boy in the stands running onto the field to play with his team? There are other possibilities, too, and none of the reasons make what he did okay. None of the reasons take away from the importance of the Islamist influence on him (e.g., the Islamist influence might have turned a suicide into a suicide attack).
But I'm saddened that so few seem to see the importance of understanding what we can of these details.
