Just to be clear: Conservatives, not moderates, crushed the Democrats in Virginia

There seems to be some misconception by some, especially those on the left, that the big winners in Tuesday's elections in Virginia were moderate Republicans.

Let's disabuse them of that notion.

The charge is usually stated as a premise in a comment along the lines of "the right wing should not celebrate too much over these results, because had the Virginia guys been conservatives, they never would have won." Then, for the chaser, they throw out the Hoffman loss in NY-23 as the example of what happens to a conservative when he dares to run for office.

Landslide, it is nice to see Virginia has regrouped and realized how wrong a direction it was going under the democrats!~

He looses by 3 or 4 points after the Republican candidate stabs everyone involved with helping campaign in the back? If that’s the lesson then I’ve learned how to avoid a loss the next time. Go with the conservative to begin with!

So a political neophyte, who was a darkhorse running as an indepedent came with a few thousand votes of winning and going to congress - as his 2 opponents spent millions of more dollars than him? If the democrats really think that, then please keep that mindset until next election too.

I don’t understand. How many times do the Republicans have to get stabbed in the back by party lefties and Rinos to learn that lefties of any stripe cannot be trusted? They are a mutinous ambush waiting to happen: Spector, Jeffords, Chaffee, Powell, Snowe, Collins, and now Dede Scumbag.

A political party should be based on fundamental principles or you end up with a collection of unprincipled, lying stealing low-lifes like those that make up the majority of the Democratic Party. They lie to get elected. They lie about what they believe. They lie about their intentions. They lie about what is in a bill. They lie about EVERYTHING. I will not be a part of a party like that.

How do you differentiate from the Rat Party? Certainly not by imitating them.
