Here is video of Independent Sen. Joe Liberman today telling Don Imus that he does not support the Baucus Health Care Bill in the midst of an economy like this. So it does not appear Lieberman is a vote the Democrats can count on to get to the 60 votes needed for cloture in the Senate. Lieberman believes the Baucus bill will raise the cost of insurance for most of the people in the country.
Of course, the final bill voted on in the Senate will change as it is shaped by Democrats before they bring something forward. . . . (VIDEO)

Don’t be fooled by LIEberman. He’s political history is to wet his finger and stick it in the air to find out which way the political wind is blowing. He will make it sound as if he supports whichever position will get him the most votes.
I contacted his office approximately two weeks ago to confirm if the report stating he was one of the 60 vote caucus to bring the merged version of the two Senate committees bills was accurate. His office told me he supports debate. This is after his office had told me on more than once he opposed government run health care and he had also made such a claim on the radio. I asked the staffer why he would support debate of a bill he opposes? The staffer’s response was “I don’t know”.
I told him to find out LIEberman’s position by tomorrow. I called back the following day. This time his office told me he didn’t have a position on government run health care at that time. This guy is as sleazy as they come. Don’t assume anything he says as his final word.
No worries Joe, Snowe has got your back.
We’ll soon see if Joe is really serious or if he’s just holding out for political goodies. I like Joe, and I credit him for his consistency on the war against terrorism, but Joe’s a little too pliable on most everything else for me set this in stone.
