Neil Cavuto Commentary Blasts Obama White House for Attacks on Fox News - Video 10/12/09

Here is video of an outstanding Neil Cavuto commentary from yesterday where Cavuto blasted White House Communications Director Anita Dunn who has been disparaging Fox News, saying "Let's not pretend they are a news network."

Well, Cavuto takes off on her use of the word "pretend," but setting forth a series of "Let's Pretend" statements himself. Here is his closing section:

"Let's pretend you work for the President of the United States and not some left-wing blog in the United States. Let's pretend you are as big as the historic place you work and not as petty as the less than historic words you spout. And let's pretend you care about all of our independent viewers and aren't being just careless about those viewers' cares. So let's pretend you're focused on the issues that matter and not the petty squabbles that do not, just as we should pretend you're not overwrought and snapping. Maybe you're just overworked and snippy."

This has to be one of the stupidest things Obama has ever done.

What is it they say about getting into a fight with someone who buys their ink by the barrell?

I agree completely! It’s a bone to the far-Left by Obama, but it makes him look silly.

He tried beating up on Rush, but Rush was too big. I guess he thought an entire network was smaller. So much for Alinsky Rules.

The thing is, it’s not Fox who is being disparaged, it is the viewers who tune in, they are insulting the intelligence of the average American yet again. Not only do we who watch know that the network is not an investigative or any other kind of arm of the GOP, but it’s a mite hard to get people to believe this when Fox commentators include Julian Epstein (Clinton Admin), Bob Beckel (Mondale’s top campaign guy), Geraldine Ferraro, (Dem’s VP nominee in 1984), among others.

Honestly, every time I hear about this stuff I am reminded of how well this worked for Nixon.

It is not Obama’s goals and policies that are gonna do him (and us) in. It is his arrogant ineptitude.

Well lets hope Obama is “hounded out of office by the vicious jackals of the press” just like Nixon.

You hit the nail on the head. And if Obama only reads left wing sites like DU, he will think attacking Fox is the right move. It really is gonna backfire big time.

He needs to broaden his intelligence sources.

I think he will be. The other news sources ARE turning on him, slowly.

ABC “News” moved into the Whitehouse and Obama and the left-wing media wants to say they aren’t?? Talk about someone pretending...pretending to be a news organization.

ABCCBSNBCMSNBCCNNCNBC are nothing but propaganda outlet for the liberals.

Look its the Brittany Spears syndrome. The press creates their own golden child. They earn ratings watching their golden child rise to power...... Then something triggers the crescendo, then report as they watch their golden child twist down in flames, getting ratings all the way down. Then pick a new golden child and start all over.

"I think he will be. The other news sources ARE turning on him, slowly."

You are right that other news sources are slowly turning on Obama. Last Sunday on CBS 60 Minutes they did a segment on Afghanistan which drove home two points over and over. 1) Obama changed the Rules of Engagement and that has caused our soldiers to get killed, 2) If Obama does not send in the 40,000 troops which have been requested then he will lose the Afghanistan war.

I was blown away watching CBS report this.

They called anyone who attended a Tea Party part of a "mob." They attack anyone who has objection to 0bama's policies, politics a "racist." Now any left-leaning or center-of-the-aisle American who chooses to tune in to Fox News because you actually do get balanced reporting, and even on the op-ed shows, you get a good deal of arguing, it's not always a 5:1 stacked deck like you get on CNN or PMSNBC op-ed shows, these people are so stupid, they just don't realize that they are being fed the GOP talking points off the daily fax.

This will backfire in the same way the health care debate backfired, you cannot convince people that their own experience, history is something other than they know it to be. They do worse here, as I said, for they are using insult in order to convince, this will not work.

Agreed. I’ve told, told, and told Fox: Usama and others are trying to destroy America; I don’t need to hear from them, only about them, that they are dead. Obama and others are trying to destroy the America I’ve loved; I don’t need to hear from them... either. In some ways, “Fair & Balanced” is for the birds.

It's like mud wrestling a pig? 'Cuz you get dirty and the pig enjoys it?
