Left-Wing Media No Longer Cares About Taking Pictures of Caskets Returning From War
Washington Examiner/The Lid ^ | 9/29/09 | The Lid

Remember when the liberal media went crazy about not being able to show pictures of the war dead when they returned from Iraq and Afghanistan. The original ban was imposed in 1991 during the first Gulf War with some exceptions, including the return of Navy seamen killed during the attack on the USS Cole in the Yemeni port of Aden in October 2000 that killed 17. George W. Bush imposed a stricter ban during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the media went crazy saying the federal government was hiding the human cost of its military operations. Bush's wanted to protect the dignity of the soldier and his/her family.

Back in late March the Obama administration lifted the ban and there were plenty of photographers there the first week that pictures were allowed, but now there is almost no one, proving that that the press was fighting the Bush ban for one reason, politics. Shame on them:

During the Bush administration, we got a 24 hour a day dose of war pictures and a daily head count. Now that a Marxist community organizer is in charge, you wouldn't even know there were two wars raging overseas.

Left wing bias? Definitely.

ONLY Democrats can go to Wars. If Republicans go to war or take over from a Democrat admin, the MSM will undermine the war effort in order to try to hurt the Republican admin

I’m glad you posted this because is it just my imagination or has Iraq fallen off the face of the earth? They’re as quiet as a church mouse any more. The bias is overwhelming.

Most newspapers’ letters sections were good for 2-3 (form) letters per day from the usual suspects. You know the usual buzzwords: oil, civil war, unwinnable, dead young Americans, etc. etc.

They have dried up completely.

Also you will notice that all those throngs of homeless people on our streets aren’t in the news anymore.
