She's butchering the Queen's English with a dull knife...

I wonder if the use of the term "bland knife" is just a poor understanding of english or if that too is a British way of saying "dull knife".

Hang on I have my Oxford Standard Dictionary. Let me check it out.

MY mom bought me the dictionary, and couldn't figure out why half the words were misspelled.

bland = 1)a mild, not irritating 2)tasteless,unstimulating insipid 3)gentle in manner;suave

Now it really doesn't make sense.
