A 28 year old who just hit his first big league homer isn’t rich. This guy has spent most of his adult life in the low end of the minors lucky to make basic middle class wages.

Agree...unfortunately the fans are confused because of the extreme lifestyles so many of the players enjoy

Exactly, to the penny, EXACTLY WHAT SOMEONE WILL PAY FOR IT.

Couldn't agree more with your observation. At 28 this guy has busted his tail for at least the last 10 years to get where he's at. I admire him for standing by his principles. The “fan” trying to extort money is symptomatic of the scum we have entering our court rooms every day looking to extract settlements from the “man.” On the other hand, I'm sure not every person would act as cynically as our “fan” did. Congratulations Matt! Hope there's many more to come.

The league MINIMUM is $400,000 this year. He makes more this year than the average family of four makes in 9 - 10 years.

I don’t understand how just because you catch a ball in the stands it makes it your ball. Seems to me it’s still the property of MLB. It’s nice that they let people keep them but I don’t understand why they have to let them keep them.
