I too saw Beck's program where he said don't let them intimidate you by calls of racism. But that was for legitimate criticisms of obama and his policies. Are you saying that the best you can do for a protest against excessive governement in our lives is wave the confederate flag?

It doesn't matter how big the swimming pool, it only takes one turd to ruin the party. If you are at the "taxed enough already" protest waving a confederate flag.... you're the turd.

The NYT is reporting that many in the crowd carried Confederate flags. I have been searching and searching photos for 2 days now, and I can’t find even ONE Confederate flag!

I made a point of looking for them and didn't see any the entire time. I have also looked through all my pics and don't see any. We knew all along that the progressives/liberals would try to make this all about race. Their position is completely indefensible so they have to resort to misdirection and name calling. I personally think it is hilarious that's all they got. Pitiful.

“The theme of this protest was “taxed enough already”.”

I don’t think that was the specific theme of this event; it was broader this time. From the FreedomWorks website: “...as well as the big government policies this group opposes. “

ok then, wave the stars and bars and give the mainstream the means to discredit the movement. can someone tell me one positive thing that such a symbol brings to our desire to get government off our backs that can’t be represented better by a less controversial symbol? I don’t have a personal problem with the flag. As a symbol of states rights, I approve personally. But politically i know that such a symbol will not win us friends and converts.

1 million? No way. I was there and it was impressive and have have seen some big crowd pictures, but when I came home that night and watched the Ohio state game, they had 106K people in stadium, and I honestly don’t think we made that. I looked up pictures of the Obama inagauration and that looked much much larger. I’ve been to 90K crowd football games, seemed about same.

The Hitler signs were all from LaDouche, but then again nobody seemed to object to Bush and Guilani Hitler mustaches.

Saw on birther, they are as stupid as “truthers”, make us look as dumb as Rosie O’donnel. Obama’s mother was American citizen, so it would not even matter if he were born out of the country.

Ok, I just found one. An older white lady with a very small hand held Confederate flag.

My word, the way the New York Times reported it, you’d think the Mall was over run with Southerners demanding blood!!!!

I was there. It was a great day.
I did see one Confederate Flag but I
truly wonder if it wasn’t an acorn-type
trying to make us look like racists.

That is very possible. At this point I wouldn’t put anything past that organization.

Did I say, or imply, that having the Confederate flag there was cool? No. Lighten up, Francis.

The problem with judging the crowd with a view from the 'stage' is that it doesn't show the folks on either side of the pool, and the side areas of the Capitol grounds that were also crowded with folks!

I'd love to see a view from the air!

As we were leaving, the only thing I saw (and I was one who did the same, on purpose) was their signs propped up against the walls (but many many signs in the trash bins).

I remarked to SirKit, as we left the area of the pool in front of the Capitol, that the grounds were spotless!! There were some signs on the sidewalks around the trash bins, but that was only because there were not enough bins, and the ones that were there were full! But those signs were laid, carefully, next to the full bins, so they couldn't be kicked around and litter the area.

It would be interesting to see the comparison of the grounds after our March, and after the Inauguration, when I remember seeing pictures of just horrible litter everywhere!

I must say, a person in DUmmieland stated “they’re a clean bunch”. No trash anywhere, except as you stated!
