Looking at where they show places the public was allow to stand during the Inaugural. I can positively say that we were permitted to stand in a larger area (Senate side of capitol)We were standing in the grove of trees and there were people way in back of us.

Jackson I am so ticked off when I heard ABC or one of those networks say that there were confederate flags.
I swear by the grave of my parents that during the whole time I was there I did not see a single confederate flag.
Look at all the photos in the papers and you will not see one.

Id LOVE to compare it with the post-inauguration pics! We need side by side photos for historical comparisons:
Unwashed, dope-smoking, flea infested liberals and union thugs vs conservative trouble-makers.

The “912 Aerial Photo” at link is not from 912. No crowd on east side of pool west of Capitol Building like there were yesterday.

Those are great photos. Thanks. :-)

Protesters against US President Barack Obama's health care plan and other policies gather in Washington, DC. Protest organizers said earlier this week they hoped to attract between 20,000 and 30,000 people from around the country for the demonstration, which was supported by prominent conservatives, including former House Majority leader Dick Armey. If there had been even one, and that for littering, it would have been all over the MSM news last night.
You're right - and all over the Sunday talk shows too.

As we were leaving, the only thing I saw (and I was one who did the same, on purpose) was their signs propped up against the walls (but many many signs in the trash bins).
I didn't want to throw out my sign...I wanted them to see it.
Here is my sign.....

If I had been there with a CBF and you told me to take it down, I’d have told you to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

I guess its more important to you to give the media an opportunity to marginalize us than it is to make a positive showing. I personally can see how the CBF could be viewed symbolically in support of the 9-12 mission, but do you for a minute think that it would be portrayed that way by anyone who could get photos or videos of you? I wouldn't have told you to take it down (I'm a proud 7th generation Texan), but I would have tried to talk some sense to you.
Do you not realize that the elitist media regularly marginalizes us as rednecks? How is your CBF going to add to the message that government needs to learn its place? Before the rally I went up the Washington monument. Walking back, I passed what looked to be a liberal family headed that way as marchers streamed towards the plaza on the other side of the road. As we passed, I heard him remark to his wife: "Its amazing what can happen on a saturday without a NASCAR race". Thats how they see us, and your CBF just reinforces it.

unfortunately, there were two confederate flags that I saw. i couldnt get to either and tell them to take it down, And who the F are you? So what if there were Confederate flags?
To: mware
Sorry, but I saw two. One the full stars and bars and the other the white with the stars and bars inlay. As you can see from the poster above I replied to, to some that flag is more important than saving the country today.
It was early when I saw them, both near the pool. hopefully someone talked sense to them.

Who the F am I? I’m someone with the merest of scintilla of sense that it takes to see that all it takes is video on the evening news of one confederate flag to destroy all the good intentions of those who sacrificed time, money, sleep and comfort to come out and protest government overreaching. What are you trying to say by waving the damn thing around? and do you think the reporter doing the voice over is going to convey your message? No. All that will be reported is this is just a bunch of racist rednecks.

And who the F are you? So what if there were Confederate flags? The theme of this protest was "taxed enough already". Just how the hell does "the south will rise again" contribute to that? Thats the problem with some conservatives; their focus is so narrow they can't see the forest for the trees. witness the large number of people whose signs were solely anti abortion. What does that have to do with government oppression? i hate abortion too. But is it appropriate at a protest to get the government off our backs, to say "but while you are at it, get on THEIR backs and tell them what they can and can't do. I thought it quite ironic that a lot of women used the left's slogan "keep your laws off my body" to emphasize our point, while right next to her would be another with a sign saying "abortion is murder". I agree it is. But don't we have to save the country first?

No, you are a mamby pamby wimp who allows the MSM & Marxist to dictate what you think and what you do. The same crap that has been happening for the last 50+ years and a large part of the reason we are where we are today. You are the type of “republican” the left just loves because they can manipulate the heck out of you. There say race and you run and hide in the corner. Just get the hell out of the way.
To: Altura Ct.
No, they say “race” and I say b.s., prove it. Then they point to you. What exactly are you trying to say with your confederate flag? Couldn’t you just get it tatooed on you instead?

The NYT is reporting that many in the crowd carried Confederate flags.
I have been searching and searching photos for 2 days now, and I can’t find even ONE Confederate flag!
To: wintertime
It was. We were there afterwards and my wife commented that it was a dramatic difference between this and the inauguration.
