We hear it over and over from the Democrats in Congress and the President that, the current Health Care Reform bill (HR 3200), has language that says illegal aliens will not receive health care benefits under the legislation. There are no enforcement provisions in the bill, so the no illegal immigrant language is meaningless
Last Tuesday, the bi-partisan Congressional Research Service (CRS), the "research arm" for the United States Congress, issued a report saying that illegal aliens would be able to receive benefits under the House health care reform bill.
The report, Treatment of Noncitizens in H.R. 3200, states definitively, "H.R. 3200 does not contain any restrictions on noncitizens - whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently - participating in the Exchange." H.R. 3200 establishes a Health Insurance Exchange which would provide individuals and small businesses with access to health care plans, including the "public option" to be managed by the government.
The Center for Immigration Studies reports that covering the Illegals will cost US Tax Payers up to $31 billion a year:

Since most of Congress (whether Dem or GOP) is pro-illegal alien/anti-American....this bill will cover illegal aliens
Not that all the amendments brought forth to prevent illegal alien coverage....have all been voted down
Section 246 pretends to prohibit “illegals” from coverage.
What we have to worry about is when BO waves his magic wand and declares them “illegal no more”.
THEN they will be covered!!!!
This is really damning information.
I am asking this not flippant but sincerely, don’t illegals (and non insured people) already have a form of health care coverage because they can walk into a hospital and they must be treated? Doe not matter if they pay or not...
This is rediculous!!
No “illegal alien” will be able to receive Healthcare.
They’ll be called “undocumented patients” or “pre-citizened persons in need of medical empathy”.
“dont illegals (and non insured people) already have a form of health care coverage because they can walk into a hospital and they must be treated?”
This is true for EMERGENCY care. So it’s not going to help with preventive care (Pap smears, mammography etc.) and it’s not going to help if you’re chronically ill (e.g, diabetes) and need regular visits and/or expensive medications. That said, there are lots of taxpayer-funded resources (community health centers, care provided through local health departments) that can help with these things too.
A typical person who is uninsured all year receives about one-third of all their medical care as “uncompensated care”—i.e., care that is either paid for by taxpayers or subsidized by providers willing to donate services etc. One third is paid for out of pocket and the remainder is paid from other third party sources such as workers compensation, automobile insurance etc. My guess is that for uninsured illegals, a relatively higher share of medical bills are covered through uncompensated care.
Absolutely.
Here is an article on illegals getting free dialysis from the emergency room in Las Vegas. They come like clockwork every week because the hospital is forced to treat them and it's FREE!!! to them, though it costs the taxpayers $18K each time one goes for dialysis.
That would mean if we are being generous and under reporting the number of illegal people in this country, let's say 10 million then it is more accurate to say the cost to taxpaying citizens will be $74 billion per year, at today's dollars.
However, if we use the number that is more generally agreed upon to say 20 million illegal people in this country then the projected cost, in today's dollars will be $150 billion!
That's $150 billion that taxpaying citizens are on the hook for!
Is that fair? Shouldn't a larger percentage of the population be required to shoulder the burden?
