Ed and Lois Smart tell the harrowing tale of the search for their abducted daughter Elizabeth.

She'd been taken from her bed in her own home one night and as the Smart family suffered the insults of a community the Salt Lake Police blew this case so bad that Elizabeth suffered many more months for their dereliction of investigative duty.

TV Reviews of Hell's Kitchen where Chef Ramsey keeps cussing the wannabe chefs keep smoking.

Also a dark horse HGTV reality contest for interior designers…."Design Star".

And as "America's Got Talent" rapidly gains as a challenge to "American Idol" it now has a final top 20.

First guess at the top five here with pics and video you'll find nowhere else on the Internet.

For one can never get enough Ted Kennedy.

But more importantly, on Thoughts this week we have a tender story about butterfly babies and backyard habitats. Plus a story about a new computer malware that is particularly nasty.

And of course, as we all need more of the wonderful Ted Kennedy in our lives, my tale of just how I shall explain the story of Ted Kennedy to my granddaughter.

Much more.

Depending on the local Pee Dee to find a missing child is like sending a bunch of mentally challenged, overpaid closet homosexuals to accomplish an extremely important task.

The police are the experts and we are supposed to sit back and let them do their job i guess. My family did that and no result 31 years later.

i dont think they have the manpower or tools needed, most cases seem to be solved by providing the public with all information they have, but then they dont get to be the superhero?

One has to admit that a lot of strange circumstances surround the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping.

My question: if the police and volunteers were supposedly conducting an inch-by-inch search of the area around her suburban home, how the hell did they miss her? It wasn’t like she was spirited away to Tijuana as part of a white slavery ring — she was getting the crap raped out of her in a hole in the ground just a few miles away from her own home. She even claimed to have called out to her uncle, who had passed within ten feet of the Mitchells’ camp. The couple were seen with Elizabeth many times during their time in SLC as well — they didn’t exactly hide in a bunker.

Yet “no trace of the missing girl was found”. It’s almost as if someone didn’t want her to be found...

Some more fun facts:

Fact: Mitchell and Brazee (the couple who grabbed her) were fundamentalist Mormon nutjobs, and were well-known in the local community as fundamentalist Mormon nutjobs, yet the Smarts allowed “Emmanuel” (Mitchell), a local drifter, unlimited access to his home for five effing hours. And he wasn’t even the first nutjob they’d had in their home! WTF?

Fact: Elizabeth Smart was found in Sandy, UT, about 18 miles from her home. When questioned by police, she denied being Elizabeth Smart and that she was being held against her will.

Fact: Mitchell was IDed several times during the manhunt, and was even arrested. Yet no one ever thought to connect him to the Smart case.

Fact: According to the probable cause statement, Mitchell “committed a rape, attempted rape, forcible sexual abuse or attempted forcible sexual abuse” against Elizabeth Smart. Elizabeth Smart was missing for nine months. Coincidence?

There’s plenty more weirdness where that stuff came from. Suffice it to say that I’ve never believed the official Elizabeth Smart story to be the whole truth.

Elizabeth’s sister never deviated from her story that it was Mitchell who took her sister...she called him Emmanuel which she knew him as. She denied ALWAYS that it was Ricci.

Yet the cops could not be pursuaded.

It wasn’t until John Walsh showed Mitchell’s picture on America’s Most Wanted that Elizabeth was spotted.
