Medicare Part B or Part D, it does not really matter as it is just another example of Socialized Medicine in the United States.

I have no idea how old you are but I guessing under thirty. I've been paying into the system you want to destroy for 48 years. I had no choice in the matter, the monies were removed from my salary before I even saw it. We were not asked, we were told that was the way it would be and like it or not that is the way it was.
I agree with you the system we have today is not sustainable. It is a "Ponzi" scheme and if Bernie Madoff had been running it instead of the US government he would have gotten 200 years instead of the 150 that he richly deserved. However, there are millions of people that have been paying for a lifetime into the scheme with the promise that they would receive benefits when they reached the magic age of 62 for SS and 65 for Medicare.
From their (and my) perspective we have been pre-paying our "insurance premiums" and expect to receive the coverage that we have already paid for.
How do you propose to transition these people over to private insurance? _____________ (Fill in the blank with whatever you are proposing here)!
It's rather like changing tires on a car going down the interstate at 70 MPH. We all know where we are, most agree on where we want to wind up. What we have yet to agree on is how we get there. I'll listen to whatever you propose. Just remember to try to see it from our perspective before making any snap decisions.
