Charles Krauthammer Praises Obama Performance at Presser
The Up Blog ^ | 7/24/2009 | Brian Humeck

Popular conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer, whose columns appear in the Washington Post and many other newspapers throughout this nation had some stunning words on the Hugh Hewitt Radio Show this afternoon. When asked how he thought President Obama fared in his Wednesday night press conference, Krauthammer responded that his thoughts were quite the opposite of the general feelings toward the presser.

“I think he did quite well,” said Krauthammer but then added an obvious caveat. “He stood up there and defended the indefensible for an hour. If that had been me up there, I would have turned myself in after twenty minutes on the basis of fraud.”

Many policy wonks have outlined the outrageous and fraudulent claims Obama and his minions have spouted time after time but Krauthammer boiled it down to a couple ludicrous points.

“Obama says that everyone will now have great health care and it won’t cost anything …except we’ll have a couple millionaires chip in the money to pay for it.”

I love listening to Krauthammer on the Hugh Hewitt Show. He is right. That press conference was a complete fraud.

That was not the glowing review the White House was looking for.

lol! The article title is a bit misleading, but it did it’s job: It got my attention. It was misleading because Charles praised o’s performance not for o’s command of the subject, but for o’s ability to BS for up to an hour.

Krauthammer was really digging at Obama, not really praising him. He was making a point about style masking substance.

Oh yeah, it was damning praise. I loved his line that he’d had turned himself in if it had been him up there.

Wait! I'm not sure I follow you. Can you draw a picture?

The modern master of ‘astroturfing’ is David Axelrod. The presser was a typical astroturfing presser like Axelrod used to deceive the public for his business clients who needed an image fix. The entire presser was probably prearranged right down to the particular people called upon and the final questioner giving Obama an entry to segway into playing the racial profiling race card for distraction value. Think about how insidious a man is that would use racial unrest as a means to divert attention from his marxist agenda.

“Damn with faint praise, assent with civil leer
And, without sneering, teach the rest to sneer;
Willing to wound, and yet afraid to strike,
Just hint a fault, and hesitate dislike.”

“Epistle to Dr.Arbuthnot”
Alexander Pope

Krauthammer at his best.

“Charles Krauthammer was right, Obama did a great job at his press conference. He lied to the world and his nose didn’t grow an inch.”

“I remember a joke from the Carter years that could be changed a little today to fit Obama. In regard to our last disaster of a president, people often asked, “How do you know when Carter tells a lie?” Answer: He grows another tooth. Today, we can ask, “How do you know when Obama tells a lie?” Answer, “His ears grow a bit larger.” Okay, people, watch those ears!!!!” I’m sure they’ll take up the entire television screen at the next press conference.”

I definitely agree that all questions could have been staged. I’m not sure Obama wanted to use the race card to get attention away from health care but that’s absolutely possible. It sure turned Hannity’s attention away from health care at the precise moment Waxman said he’ll bypass the committee and take the vote directly to the floor.

Yes Obama lied: but how many Congresscritters and Senators are lying just like him and voting for this monstrosity?

THAT is scary, that anyone could read past the first 16 pages and still vote for this mess.

Welcome to FR. Obama usually has everything very planned, right down to who will ask questions, where they will sit, and what questions will be asked. It would be very strange that a question so off subject (Police/Gates) would have been asked without his or his staffs approval in advance. As for the reason he would want the question asked - it makes my head spin just thinking about how this guy thinks.

Does anyone know how much a designated questioner makes? Since I am now unemployed due to today's minimum wage increase in the middle of the Odepression, I could really use the job even if it's just for one day. Wouldn't that qualify as a new job creation also? Are WASPs ineligible? Am I able to participate in the government workers health plan? I would also be happy to wax and polish TOTUS if that helps.

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, don’t try to figure out how Obama thinks. He’s too deep of a thinker and we might drown. Isn’t it nice to have a president that is so damn intelligent?

That last statement was pure SARCASM!!!!

: )
