Neck and neck right now.

Truth be told, I think ethics investigations CAN and SHOULD be used—when there is a strong indication that an elected official has done something hinky.

But in Palin’s case, where one hater keeps filing one after another after another...it’s a ridiculous waste of time and resources. The accuser should be fined.

they are necessary, but ABUSE of that system should be ITSELF an ethics violation punishable by fines and JAIL TIME

Yes they are. A person with the moral integrity of Sarah Palin would never violate the power of her position. It is just liberals needling away for any kind of shot at damaging the political juggernaut Palin has become.

Newt has always been an intellectual powerhouse, coming up with ideas and arguments constantly.

I love what he brings to the table in that regards.

I hate the baggage he brings though. Regardless, Newt is badly needed and a younger Newt is needed that can lead the next generation of conservatives

If, by “politicians”, they mean both Republican and Democrat, then yes, I might have to agree.

But since Democrats have absolutely NO morals or ethics, and can never, ever be accused of them in the media.... then I’d have to say they are nothing more than witchhunts, and those making the accusations should be made to spend an intimate weekend with Al ‘Yellow Fingers’ Franken and Jeanneane Gabarfalo.

Hmm, I love the way the poll is worded:

Are state ethics investigations a waste of money or necessary for keeping politicians in check?

Waste of money or Necessary

Clearly this poll is because of Palin, but because the wording I either support the ridiculous investigations on her, or I think they are a waste of time for every politician. Obviously they’re not a waste on politicians who may have actually committed an ethics violation.

I prefer Newt as RNC Chair than Michael Steele.

Very well said.

As much as I admire Newt’s ideas, he’s got a horrible track record of implementation. That’s not uncommon, but his role is to support the new breed of Conservative leaders, he had his chance and blew it.

Which is also why we gotta get Rubio elected. As well as Peter Schiff.

Smart guys with intellectual fire power who can clearly articulate our views

Yup. And I think there are potential leaders out there

Rubio in Florida.

DeMint. Jindal (he will bounce back)

Peter Schiff. Rand Paul

All young conservatives with intellectual howitzers who can articulate and sell conservative principles

Newt jumped the shark when he got cozy with Nancy Pelosi and became a Global Warming alarmist. As far as I’m concerned that makes him unlikable and unsupportable. Until he renounces Al Gore’s religion I don’t give a fig what he says.

An independent investigator for the state Personnel Board has determined that the legal defense fund established for Gov. Sarah Palin -- the Alaska Trust Fund -- is a probable violation of state ethics laws.

Dear KTUU - It is the Alaska Fund Trust, goofballs. You know, like the graphic accompanying the above text.

“Hmm, I love the way the poll is worded:”

Classic case of a false dilemma fallacy.
