The big news in the world of sports this weekend is 59-year-old Tom Watsons amazing run at a possible sixth British Open Championship (No. 5 came way back in 1983). As you know, most top golfers employ someone who knows their way around a golf course to carry their bag, and Watson is no exception. However, Watsons caddy also knows his way around a political campaign, helping many a Democrat win elections. read more...
Only a couple of years before it is time to put the 59-year-old Tom Watson out on the Obamacare-mandated ice floe...
Tom’s a republican... and his caddy is a democrat... and they joined hands across the aisle to work together... (sniff)
And to see him standing there after missing that putt on 18, then later realizing that it was gone... the look on his face still haunts me today.
I stand and applaud, Mr. Watson.
ha ha
Agreed! Goosebumps.
Another interesting story I gleaned from Tom Watson’s near miss yesterday. His wife Hilary....who was formerly Mrs. Denis Watson, the wife of Denis Watson, pro golfer..they divorced as did Tom and his wife of 25 years. Hilary Watson then married Tom Watson.
You would not believe how often this happens at a country club.
I know of at least three couples that did a “wife swap” after all the paperwork cleared.
I am personally getting very tired of having politics rammed down my throat via sports. The worst example is Peter Gammons on ESPN radio. They allegedly bring him on to talk about baseball, but he always finds a way to make a sharp left turn into Bush Derangement Land. (in today’s appearance he used the phrase “socially conscious” 13 times...bet he doesn’t say “double-play” 13 times in a week...)
It happens everywhere, even in the church and Hollywood. It’s called sin. It’s always sad.
