When you talk crime statistics with an establishment type in the U.K., they always try to make things out to be better than they are. These days they have a very hard task.
Crime in the U.K. is exploding at an alarming rate. According to recently released statistics, it’s the most violent place in the European Union. And those who parry that “it’s not as bad as the U.S.” — as so many do when talking crime statistics — are correct. The U.K. is worse.
In the U.K., there are 2,034 offenses per 100,000 people, way ahead of second-place Austria at 1,677. The U.S. has a rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, Canada has 935, Australia has 92, and South Africa has 1,609.
Yes — the U.K. has a larger problem with violent crime than South Africa.

A disarmed population, effectively no right of self-defense, a disconnected leftists government, a PC policy of turning a blind eye toward the most violent (eg jihadists), a police force ordered by that government to be harder on the law-abiding than the criminals, a joke of a criminal injustice system - basically what the donks and lib repubs want for us here - and these are the inevitable results...
Oops, I forgot a massive immigrant population with an antethical worldview to a culture of Western freedom (again with the full support of the disconnected leftist government).
PS I’d say illegal immigrant, but does that term even have any real meaning in the UK anymore (or the US for that matter)?

absolutely correct...and ‘life sentences’ often mean only a few years.
Because their too few prisons are overcrowded, in most instances, the authorities are no longer prosecuting burglars.
If the people of the UK--and the US et al.--demanded better government and better public servants, they would have them.
If the people are so decadent that they lack the energy, the focus, the clarity, and the resolve to demand safety for themselves and their children, they deserve what they get--and vice versa.
If the people are willing to tolerate corrupt and mendacious political "leaders", dishonest propaganda instead of truthful information, and a decadent society in which to live and raise their children, they deserve what they get--and vice versa.

One thing to look at is age demographics. All else equal, crime is usually high where the percentage of the young is high.

“The fundamental problem of the UK’s ‘zero tolerance of violence’ and anti-self-defense laws is that when a thug robs, assaults, kills, or otherwise harms a regular person (esp in their home), the thug leaves and is hard to find. When a regular person uses violence in response, they are easy to locate and target (again, esp at home). Therefor, the laws only deter regular people from using even justified force. They do nothing against the thug.
The same applies to gun and knife (!!!) control laws. The left either doesn’t understand this or INTENDS it. Why the latter? Because a thug culture helps them accumulate power.”
PS Is there a way to change your freeper nic? I prefer my MoonbatBane moniker, but don’t want to lose my history here under my piytar nic, which pre-dates my use of MoonbatBane. I’ve looked for one but haven’t found it.
I don't know. People do it but I think they lose everything under their old nic.
