Four immigration Victories in the Senate!!!

In last week’s newsletter, I wrote about how quiet things were with Congress out of town for the Fourth of July recess. But how things can change in just one week! Four immigration-reduction amendments to the Homeland Security spending bill were offered on the floor of the Senate this week, and thanks to you, we won all four! Things were a bit crazy at NumbersUSA’s two Washington-area offices on Wednesday and Thursday. The tech staff was hard at work making sure our website could handle our second busiest day of the year in terms of visitors, while the web content team in the Arlington, Va. office kept up-to-the-minute information on our front page to keep you informed to everything that was happening. (We even have the video of Sen. Jeff Sessions’ floor speech defending E-Verify on our front page). Our legislative team in our Capitol Hill office coordinated all our advocacy efforts, informing us to who NumbersUSA members should be directing their phone calls. Both Wednesday and Thursday were late nights for every member of our staff, but it was well worth it to witness four victories! However, we need you to keep the pressure on because, as you’ll read in Roy’s new blog above, we need to make sure the amendments aren’t stripped out of the spending bill during a secret, backroom conference committee between House and Senate leaders. This may be our only chance this year. Also be sure to click on our Vote Trackers in the upper right of this email. That is where we present you with how each Senator voted on each important immigration issue. Your website team tries to provide these Vote Trackers within an hour of the official votes becoming available. Being able to hold each elected official immediately accountable is one of our most important functions. As always, there will be several new faxes appearing on your Action Buffet throughout the upcoming days. So make sure you thank the Senators that voted for these four amendments and blast the ones that didn’t. And thank you for all your phone calls into Washington and for making Wednesday our second busiest day of the year in visitors to our website. Thanks, http://www.numbersusa.com/content/

Senate This Week Passes Sessions’ E-Verify Amendment; Senate Adopts DeMint Border Fence Amendment; Senate Adopts Vitter and Grassley Amendments — And immigration-reduction.

ANOTHER SHOCKER Local law enforcement officers will be able to act as immigration agents under an agreement announced Friday by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. Eleven new jurisdictions around the nation were accepted into the program, known as 287g, on Friday.

Napolitano also unveiled a standardized agreement for any local jurisdiction that wants to deputize police to act on behalf of ICE.

The program has drawn strong opposition from immigrant advocates and divided opinions among L/E who feel it may undermine trust in immigrant communities where crime is often underreported.

Now if only we can keep Ms. Sotomayor for becoming a Supreme.

THE TIME IS NOW TO DEMAND OBO PULL THE SOTO NOM: Call Congress switchboard: 202-225-3121 (to reach Senate offices).

MESSAGE TO SENATORS: Americans are sending the word across the land: "Sotomayor's rulings shows she would make policy through the court. The US Constitution precludes judges from making laws. It is understandable that Americans are apprehensive: Sotomayor and her crowd are colluding to exert raw power over the majority---to turn the US into a failed Third World satrap. These racialists do not understand a sophisticated superpower----a democracy governed by the rule of law, based on three co-equal branches of government."

END MESSAGE Any Senator who votes to confirm Sotomayor risks his/her reelction chances.

ACTION Every senator should get 10-15,000 calls from Americans. America will thank Repubs (and others) for ditching this racialist nominee. Even with Dems in control, 10-15,000 calls could make a difference.....this is an issue that cuts across party lines. Ask Hillary who lost a primary b/c she endorsed licenses for illegals.

IS YOUR REPUBLICAN SENATOR A JUDIDCIARY COMMITTEE MEMBER? Jeff Sessions, Orrin G. Hatch,Charles E. Grassley, Jon Kyl Lindsey Graham,John Cornyn, Tom Coburn.

MESSAGE TO REPUB JUDIDCIARY COMMITTEE SENATORS: Republican members of the Judiciary Committee should utitilize Rule 1V (Rule IV states, “The Judiciary Chairman shall entertain a non-debatable motion to bring a matter before the Committee to a vote. If there is objection to bring the matter to a vote without further debate, a roll call vote of the Committee shall be taken, and debate shall be terminated if the motion to bring the matter to a vote without further debate passes with ten votes in the affirmative, one of which must be cast by the minority.”

Law professor Michael Dorf, law professor at Cornell University and a former clerk to Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, explains that the Senate Judiciary Committee's Rule IV means that one member of the minority party must agree for a matter to be brought to a vote. Otherwise the matter will NOT be voted on.

=====================================

FOR FUTURE REFERENCE Sotomayor and her crowd are clearly unprepared and ill-equipped to exist under US democracy----within a world-class superpower that operates under the rule of law.

Case after case clearly shows illiterate invaders, MS-13 gangs, and their savage cadres, are America-haters, invading the US to kill Americans (the brutal machete slaughter of three Black Newark teens comes to mind). The FBI reports El Salvador's brutal MS-13 gangs saturating the US, have killed more US citizens than Al Quada killings all over the world.

It appears that illiterate natives from poverty-stricken hovels are being coached by corrupt Third World governments----gov't juntas that rule by military force. Even more disturbing, Third World military juntas are attempting to undermine US justice. Third World juntas demanded last year, that the US Attorney suspend deportations of marauding latino criminals on US soil who are killing and maiming Americans. This presages the Third World they intend to build on US soil.

We're looking at primitive, illiterate Third Worlders more accustomed to military juntas patrolling the streets in camouflage and shoulder holsters....these people are armed with a savage determination to take-back the SW (reconquista) by forming fraudulent voting blocs, using any means possible---means that are patently illegal. Clearly, the invaders are way out of their element----unable to circum-navigate a complex and sophisticated world-class superpower, one that is governed by the rule of law. Lawbreaking is not tolerated here. People like Sotomayor would suspend our laws in the pursuit of their racialist agendas.

FINAL MESSAGE----Demand Senators call the White House switchboard 202 456-1111; urge Obo to withdraw the Soto nomination.

“Four immigration-reduction amendments”

I think this is really stupid strategy from NumbersUSA as they are now using the same tactic pro-illegal groups are using, ie labeling these issues as “immigration issues” rather than “illegal alien issue”.

Earth to NumbersUSA:
THIS IS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION ISSUE, NOT IMMIGRATION ISSUE.

This does not help anti-alien issue one bit. Besides, 97% of the foreigners here are illegals, the remaining 3% are legal (and if there are some breaking the law they should of course be deported).

Vast majority of the country is willing to support the cause of fight against illegal immigration. It is also logical to fight crime. Once you label all “immigrants” bad you lose a lot of support and you also get the accusations of racism (yes this is baseless, but happening anyway). It would make much more sense to state these issues “anti illegal immigration reduction”

not sure what you mean..majority of voters support anti-illegal policies (ie oppose illegal immigration), but once you add legal immigration to it, things change..

about the percentages..There are about 20 million illegals. H1 limit is about 60,000 a year (can stay up to 5 years, large portion go home at some point). Eventually illegals or their kids became legals and they sponsor new immigrants (they are still the result of illegal immigration). So yes, I think about 95-97% foreigners here are either illegals or direct result of illegals/anchor babies.

Dems are obviously getting bigtime flak from constituents..........proof positive anti-illegal is a consensus issue. Both sides of the aisle agree.

People are coming around that during a Depression we cannot be taking in 1 million legal immigrants a year. Numbers were dropped during the last Great Depression, numbers will need to be lowered for this Depression. Illegal immigrants will face a more severe opposition as unemployment hits 10+ nationally. Since we closed off our frontier for development, gave a way all our manufacturing jobs for paper shuffling jobs, we do not have labor intensive industries left. Thus the traditional immigration levels must be reduced accordingly to reflect our new reality.

Unemployment approaching 10 percent, more middle class Americans are becoming working poor Americans, the last thing we need is more poor immigrants, poor illegal immigrants and well to do immigrants who will compete for the last remaining good paying tech jobs. 21st Century will be the century American government and businessmen must learn to take care of Americans first before poking their nose into other people’s businesses overseas. Otherwise we will vote in people into office who will understand that priority.
