After the parade, my wife and I decided to join the Tea Party happening in Palatine at the corner of Northwest Highway and Hicks Rd in Palatine. We thought at the most, there would be 20 or so protesters with the rain that started to come down around 1pm, but I estimate that there were close to 150 or so(I will look up the "official" numbers tonight from their website), taking up a block and a half and they started to hang out on the other side of Northwest Highway and up Hicks road just a bit. Some very witty signs (my personal favorite is the one that is above!),

I have never participated in a protest before, but I’m glad I did today. The Palatine rally was around 200 with several speakers present. Even in the rain the crowd was charged and ready for action. During breaks with the speakers we lined up on both sides of Northwest Highway with our signs and banners. Cars would go by honking their horns and cheering out the windows. Now mind you this is Rep. Kirk’s district (one of the RINOs who voted for the cap-and-trade bill). He was loudly booed whenever his name came up. It was awesome!
I left the proceedings with a feeling something good is starting here. We got to keep up this momentum.
BTW, here’s one of the best signs I saw, “We have hit Barack bottom.”
!!!!!!!!!!! WOW am I pissed! I LIVE in Palatine. I am a politically junkie of A supreme! And I knew NOT ONE SINGLE THING ABOUT THIS! I am SO angry!!
And YES...that is a WONDERFUL sign!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I saw that one also! There were a lot of supporters driving by, except the three that enjoyed paying taxes and gave us the ole’ “you’re number 1” sign! :)
Would you please tell me how you even knew about this?
I got an email from Republicans of Wheeling Township and I also saw it on Anne Leary’s site, http://backyardconservative.blogspot.com/. There are other places to find out about what is going on close by, check the Illinois Freep board.
Plus, you won’t see anything much about these Tea Parties on the news, even though there were a lot of them out there. Here is another site: http://lakecountyteaparty.com/
Thanks for the links. I’ll check them out.
