The Unraveling of the Obama Agenda
Axis of Right ^ | 6/20/2009 | Sal

The Democrats have, according to the state-run media, a wildly popular president in the White House, a large majority in the House of Representatives, and an almost filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. So why does it seem like Obama’s agenda is quickly unraveling?

I have contented for a while now that Obama is trying to do too much, too fast. One theory is that he has been trying to push his agenda through quickly because of his high popularity, and because liberalism as an ideology is not all that popular with the American people. Obama has been trying to push as much liberal policy through at once, and because he lacks real experience, has really no concept of the slow-moving mechanism of the 100 egos in the Senate, not to mention the House. Obama is drawing from the experience of the only legislative success of his young Presidency, the Porkulus, and is assuming that everything will go that easily and that quickly. Unfortunately, he is now learning that Congress is not there simply to do his bidding, and his major initiatives are in danger of stalling.

About half of the people living in this country are not ready to dive off into Barack’s Marxist sewer. All he has is the freeloader crowd. Those of us who make America work aren’t buying his bovine scatology.

BO’s house of cards is starting to crumble because the people are flooding their Congress critters in opposition to his socialist legislation.

The first sentence says it all. obozo has got a 1 and 1/2 years to push his agenda. That puts the timeframe to July/August 2010. There’s an election in November 2010. If people don’t see any results or stagnation occurs, rolling into November obozo may not have a majority in the House and Senate. Then his a** is down the creek without paddle and he can say “s’long” to another 4 years in the election of 2012.

“Fair Tax, you earn it, you keep it!”

Your tagline would seem to inversly imply that all of congress should pay 100% of their salaries in taxes. I would agree to that

The way Zero is going that date has moved up dramatically. Not all Democrats are as liberal or can count on the electorate to not to turn on them for being big spenders during a bad economy.

The GOP needs to hammer spending and the economy, but they don't have much of a voice.

Your math (half) is correct now, but when these Obama packages pass and take effect over 60% of American workers will receive more from the federal govt than they pay in federal taxes. Critical mass will have been achieved and America as we love it will be on the precipice.

The market is spanking him daily. He’s economically incompetent. The market has adjusted accordingly. Only a fool thinks they can control capitalism.

The Kenyan’s absence of leadership experience has manifest itself rather quickly. He will be be a lame duck by Christmas once unemployed hits 11% nationally and his fellow democrats see disaster on the horizon for the 2010 midterm elections. Couldn’t happen to a more-deserving muslim.

“All he has is the freeloader crowd.”

This is certainly a significant component of liberal supporters, and liberal politicians have great self interest in growing this segment of the population. The success of the left has always been dependent upon class war and envy. Their new buzz word ‘fairness’ describes policies that are anything but fair.

You may be correct; however, if the 60% in your formula includes federal employees, we (and O) know a good portion of those employees are adamantly opposed to having a Leninist-thug as president.

O has pi$$ed off enough people and agencies in the last few months to almost guarantee his political collapse.

IMHO our primary target ought be to rid the Congress of fat-cat socialists and their enabling RINOs ASAP.

Hopefully, he’s afraid of what may happen in the mid-term election in 2010 - I’m hoping that that true.

Once those on medicare find out that end of life services and procedures will be rationed if the Obama health care plan passes - the poop will be hitting the fan, big time.

The July 4th tea parties and the big one in September in DC will tell all how serious the American people are. Hope instead of the shacking in their boots they get even more pompus and arrogant, fuel for the fire.
