TDC asks: If Obamas friend and Mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson is innocent, why then would Obama elect to fire Mr. Walpin within 48 hours rather than honoring the 2008 Inspectors General Reform Act Law which states that firing an inspector general requires 30 days warning and a written explanation to Congress?

Inspector General FIRED for doing his job?Of course. It sets a bad precedent.
We can't have government employees actually looking out for the taxpayers. Where would it all end?

Glenn Beck had the IG on his show Monday. The IG didn’t mince words.

The answer is Obama and his staff are just simply ignorant of federal law, particularly the part about federal employees.
They won't get any better as this goes on ~ it's just a matter of days and this Chicago gang will be seen to be the least interested bunch ever to hold government power since the Pendleton Act was passed.

I will take the contrary view. Wouldn't this type of law be an infringement on the authority of the executive branch over what is ostensibly an executive-level agency?
This law sounds a lot like the Tenure of Office Act.

Obama was a co-sponsor of the Bill.
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/110-s2324/show
Sen. Claire McCaskill [D, MO] is the sponsor of the Bill, she said the following today.
After being briefed today on President Obamas firing last week of Gerald Walpin, Inspector General of the Corporation for National and Community Service, Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said the president did not abide by the same law that he co-sponsored and she wrote about firing Inspectors General.

And this law was one of a very few where he actually voted, as opposed to just registering “Present.”
