The Meaning Of Bibi's Speech Was TAKE THAT OBAMA!!
The Lid ^ | 6/14/09 | The Lid

As predicted on these pages the other day, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's speech gave President Obama something that he wanted, an Israeli call for a Palestinian State.

At the same time Netanyahu went on the offense by changing the way the "game is being played. Instead of a Palestinian State being the "given" and the argument being about the form the state will take, the State is the negotiation chip and the the discussion will be about what the Palestinians have to do to get a state. Bibi is trying to ensure that Abbas will have to make concessions before he even gets to talk about the specifics of a state, instead of the Olmert approach which was to make one-sided concessions first, ask questions later. The ball has been thrown into the Palestinian court.

But make no mistake about it, much of the speech was intended to be a smack in the face to President Obama for the revisionist observations made during his Cairo Speech two weeks ago.

Interesting slant. I wonder if this means Isreal will require something wild, like, oh, I don’t know... requiring any Palestinian State to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist?

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu thinking to himself, as the rest of the world already knows, “What a clueless arrogant phony TOTUS this empty suit really is in person”.

Carter warns US and Israel on collision course

Jun 14 08:12 AM US/Eastern

Israel is headed for a clash with main ally the United States over the issue of Jewish settlements, former US president Jimmy Carter said in an interview on Sunday.
Asked by the liberal Haaretz newspaper whether the Jewish state was looking at a “head-on collision” with the United States if it doesn’t comply with Washington’s demands, Carter said “Yes.”

The former president, who brokered the historic peace treaty between Israel and Egypt in 1979, said Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank were the biggest hurdle in the hobbled Middle East peace process, saying they were “illegal and (an) obstacle to peace.”

Bibi’s conditions are: 1) no “right of return” for Arabs into Israel; 2) no Jerusalem as the “Palestinian” capital; 3) terrorism must be abandoned in the territories, and the terrorist orgs disarmed; 4) Israel’s existence must be acknowledged.

Chances that the Arabs will agree to any of these conditions: Zero.

Iow, Bibi didn’t concede squat. ...despite what the MSM headlines say.

I truly believe Obama thinks he will just take down Obama but it will be the other way around (God willing).

“What a clueless arrogant phony TOTUS this empty suit really is in person”.

What is worse (and I suspect the reason that Bammy has not sent support in any fashion to the dissidents) is that he is so invested in the current Iranian regime, he is in the typical liberal conundrum of rooting AGAINST the Democratic forces...no matter how slight they might be...giving rise to the REAL hatred of the US the left worries about ceaselessly...

The headline reads:

Netanyahu endorses Palestinian independence.

The actual text reads:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu endorsed a Palestinian state beside Israel for the first time on Sunday, reversing himself under U.S. pressure but attaching conditions such as having no army that the Palestinians swiftly rejected.

Just a slight difference when you read the entire article.
I guess the point was that most people will read only the headlines and not the entire article giving the impression that the empty suit won when in fact he was shown to be clueless about a statesman who is also an honest and brave MAN.

. . . no military for the Palis.

This was explicit. But why would any state come into being without any authority or means to defend itself? We do not demand as much of Canada (as if such a comparison is of any merit given history in the Mideast).

Øbama and Carter should go be squatters with the Palestinians, otherwise, if they don’t live there, they should shut their pie holes

Actually, it was the mighty acorn asserting itself, along with millions of ignorant minds produced by the NEA and nurtured by the MSM, who handed this country over. Not for long.
