HuffPo's Sarah Palin Foot Fetish
Conservatives 4 Palin ^

The Huffington Post actually has a poll and a slideshow up about Governor Palin's toenails. No, I'm not kidding, and it's already got hundreds of poisonous comments.
This reminds me of the numerous wire photos of the Governor's feet and lower legs during the 2008 campaign, and the interest seems to be continuing. For instance, Ben Smith's Politico piece from last Saturday's Auburn visit included this quote:
Her four-car motorcade, including two black SUVs provided by the New York State Police, then headed to Seneca Falls, where Palin, bright red toenails visible in open shoes, trooped through a museum that focuses on the 19th-century origins of the American womens movement in Upstate New York.
Why is the liberal media so interested in the Governor's feet? Are they podophiles?
By the way, the author at the HuffPo, Senior Style Editor Anya Strzemien, is the same person who also posited that the Governor's lipliner is tattooed on -- another HuffPo piece that generated hundreds of comments.
But remember that conservatives are the sexist ones!

I love the Politico quote, commenting on a woman's tonail polish as she goes to visit a museum focusing on the struggles of women in the political arena. You can't make this stuff up.

No, they are merely reviving and continuing the memetic analogy the Associated Press dreamed up during the campaign, where Palin is portrayed as a sort of stripper who goes on stage to bare her "radical" beliefs to the crowd. The AP even managed to get a photo of Palin on a stage, her ankles in the foreground and some guy's head in the background looking up at her. You know, like how guys look at strippers on stage.
The depth and breadth of this analogy is pretty disturbing, but then again, what about the drive-by media isn't disturbing?

The attempted assassination of Sarah Palin continues.
Maybe this is a leap of faith but I think that Sarah will survive this and all the hyperbolic lies will slap her foes in the face. Not that they will acknowledge it, but a majority of regular people will easily see through it and support her with voices and votes.

There was something decidedly creepy about this article. But then, you have to consider the source: they’re Liberals, and Democrats. They probably haven’t seen women with “feet” before. All of their women have cloven hoofs or, in Michelle Obama’s case, trotters.

Why is the liberal media so interested in the Governor's feet? The liberal press, bereft of any semblance of journalism, dominated by disordered minds, have nothing else to do except resort to the prurient interests of fellow asylum members of the Democratic Socialist Party.
I cannot remember the last time a MSM paper actually published a meaningful discourse; they do get the sports scores correct, though.
You can still find even handed journalism in the still profitable conservative newspapers like the Washington Times.

It also goes along with the Tina Fey portrayal, the "Bristol Stomp", and the porn flicks that came out at the same time. All crafted to transform her image into a hypocrite and harlot.

threads trashing Mrs. Obamas choice in clothes
Blame the media - they toot her as 'best dressed' and a beauty. They tear down one unjustly and build up another falsely. We have every right to speak the truth in face of those bold faced lies. You say 'tacky' - Lying is tacky!
To: The Flying Dutchman

Bingo. The strategy was and is to delegitimize Palin by making her into a "pretty face" (being kind here) rather than portray her as a substantive conservative. Let's not forget that simply by standing on stage holding her baby Trig, she demolishes the liberal narrative about what feminism is and means.
With regards to the porn flick starring the lookalike, I'll say that if it weren't for the fact that Larry Flynt produced it, I wouldn't count it as part of the media assault on Palin. But it's a Flynt "creation" and so it counts.

Sarah Palin is feminine and well composed. This wouldn't drive the Leftist hordes so mad if she also weren't beautiful. Then on top of all this she had the unmitigated gall to bear a special needs baby.
Milquetoast liberal males and butch liberal females are simply envious of Sarah Palin. And to be honest, some on the Right are also, though a very small number.

So we fight this “evil” difference in opinion by....what? Multiple threads with snide comments about her large posterior and bad taste in belts?
Is that really a platform on which we conservatives want to stand?

The media appointed Michelle as a Queen of fashion and put her near the top of the hundred most beautiful.
If your reaction to such breathtakingly slobbering propaganda is mere detachment then that is a perfectly tenable position.
But don't stop others from deriding the media's idolatry. There is no mere difference in taste here. We are engaged in a primary battle on the plane of perception, and Michelle's parade of grotesqueries is a skirmish of that battle. We are being told that right is wrong, up is down and - in this case - ugly equals beautiful by our betters, and we don't care for it!

Is it true? Lying/propaganda is evil. It's manipulation and that is evil.
When one wants to APPEAR above it all - respond w/it's a matter of taste (PC is play). It's a weak stance - when really it's only a yes or no answer. PC is used to undercut the truth. You can use your 'it a matter of taste' when they say O is the best president - when it's an absolute lie. Lying/propaganda IS evil. Obviously, your don't agree because to you - it's a matter of taste. Lying/propaganda seem to be no biggie to you.

It's an OPINION. Their opinion of her fashion sense is no more or less valid than yours. It's neither true nor false.
Lying/propaganda is evil.
Lying *is* evil, but since the MSM is giving their OPINION, they're not lying. Propaganda, on the other hand, although it carries with it a connotation of negativity, is actually a neutral work. Propaganda is not, by definition, evil.
Making snide remarks about someone's taste in clothes makes one look like a school girl trying to "get" her rival. It's petty. If we object to it when the MSM/DU/HuffPo does it to Gov. Palin and yet then engage in it ourselves, we are hypocrites.

I disagree that Mrs. Obama's fashion enters into the battle of perception for anyone but those who make their decisions based solely/mostly on beauty. With people so shallow we have no chance of winning them to our side.
I've said it before and I'll put on my asbestos suit to say it again: if there are that many people -- and I'm assuming the majority are women -- who care so much what the first lady is wearing that it will effect their opinion on political issues then IMO the 19th Amendment needs to be repealed.
