Beltway GOP Disinvites Palin Again

Politico reports:

Sarah Palin’s on-again, off-again appearance at Monday night’s gala GOP fundraising dinner is off — again.

After being invited — for a second time — to speak to the annual joint fundraiser for the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Palin was told abruptly Saturday night that she would not be allowed to address the thousands of Republicans there after all.

So, the beltway GOP invited Republican fundraising superstar Governor Sarah Palin to address the joint NRSC/NRCC fundraiser in March. When she couldn't commit right away to the function because of her duties as governor during the Alaska legislative session, the beltway GOP lost their patience and filled the slot with Newt Gingrich. Fine. Now Politico is reporting that the beltway GOP has disinvited the governor yet again from a speaking role.

It wouldn't be a Politico article on Sarah Palin without an appearance by an old friend: the anonymous GOP source:

“It was Pete who had invited her to the dinner early on,” carped one campaign committee official about the initial process. “And she accepted, then unaccepted.”

I am beginning to think that every anonymous source that speaks out against Governor Palin is actually the same guy. He goes from news publication to news publication asking if they need a "negative anonymous comment" regarding Governor Palin.

Governor Palin's spokesperson, Meghan Stapleton, basically hits the nail on the head with her statement:

Recounting the conversation Sunday, Stapleton said she told the NRSC staffer: “Why, at a time when we’re trying to build the party, would you pull a move like that on somebody who earlier in the day just attracted 20,000 people?”

It’s time for Sarah to start a new party. I know we don’t like third parties, but I just don’t see any other choice.

Someone (or several people) is hell bent on making it appear to be as if there is whole lot of drama where ever Sarah Palin is concerned. I'm not saying it's fair, but it minimizes her as a serious candidate. Things are far too serious for this kind of constant high school game playing.

Sounds as if Palin has found herself a good spokesperson

Stapleton said she told the NRSC staffer: “Why, at a time when we’re trying to build the party, would you pull a move like that on somebody who earlier in the day just attracted 20,000 people?”

Put a note in one of their self-addressed envelopes - Put Sarah on the Ticket - donations are cut off until.

we don’t like third parties, but I just don’t see any other choice. ........................... It don’t work, all it succeeds in doing is getting the candidate with the least amount of popularity elected as it did in Clinton’s case in 92. A 3 party election needs a 2 party run off. Get that and it might be worth it. I don’t see it ever happening with the current crew in Congress.

P.S. If you want Palin and you are a registered independent, its best to re-register as a Republican so you can vote in the primaries.

I had mixed feelings on the timing earlier. But I think the time is now.

Sarah needs another media tour. this time it should be Meet The Press, Face the Nation, O’Reilly factor.

shows she has not been on yet.

and if she knocks it out of the park. These buttheads will have no cards to play with.

Maybe, someone ought to ask Mitt Romney and his minions. I bet they could shed some light on this. I bet even John McCain could give a few clues.

Not that easy. First, she can’t control the MSM scheduling. Second, they’ll slice and dice her remarks to make her appear a buffoon, no matter what.

The GOP establishement didn’t like Ronald Reagan either. He took the nomination despite their best efforts. Sarah can do the same.
