I am privileged to be speaking to you today from Cairo’s Al Azhar University, the world renowned center of Islamic scholarship. Once upon a time, Islamic science was the envy of the world over. Islamic scholars brought knowledge and faith to Europe and Asia. Informed by their centuries old faith, the greatest minds of Islam helped transform the world with their wisdom, their belief and their intellectual curiosity.
All was well until my predecessor, responding to a random act of man caused disaster on September 11, began a relentless bombing campaign that devastated the peaceful peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan. We will never know how much ancient wisdom lies buried in Usama Bin Laden’s Tora Bora fortress of meditation and learning. Or how much knowledge was lost when US warplanes rained terror and death on the Baghdad offices of Saddam Hussein’s Mukhbarat intelligence service....

In a Feb. 27, 2007, interview with the New York Times’ Nicholos Kristof, that’s how Obama described the Muslim call to prayer. That prayer, which Obama recited with a “first-class [Arabic] accent,” begins with this:

...To his credit, Mr. Obama has spoken respectfully of Islam (he told me last year, on the record, that the Muslim call to prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on earth at sunset”)...
Arab culture and scholarship long preceded the intrusion of Islam, and I doubt that the scholarly traditions of Arabia were in any sense enhanced by the theology and world view of Islam.
I would not put that past the Great Liar.
It was pretty good satire until the last bit, where he apologized for everything that offends them. He jumps the shark at that point.

What absolute rubbish. They only thing Islam has ever brought to the world is misery and death, and a trail of blood leading to their next victims doorstep.
Islam only stole what the culture they were invading had already learned, and after a period of Islamic suppression, reduced that culture to the backward ways of 7th century Islam, which was the equivalent to the development of the rest of the world in 2000 bc.
The lies spread by these so called Islamic "scholars" is astounding, and in direct conflict with the true historic record, which clearly proves Islam has always hindered and reversed the progress of the cultures it came into contact with, as well as completely destroying them, for example the Persian empire, which extended into Afghanistan. Look at Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq today. The Persian empire was once the most progressive empire on earth. Today it resembles little more than a society of barbaric backward tribal Bedouin camel herders as they lived in the days of 7th century Islam, all trace of Persian culture erased and forgotten.

LMAO! Scholarship? Pre-Islamic Arab "culture" is still well represented and preserved in Islamic tradition, which basically preserved all the rock worshiping culture and traditions practiced during the Mohammad's time.
The Hajj, (pilgrimage to Mecca) is exactly as it was during pre- Islam times. Mohammad simply built Islam around those traditions, merely eliminating all the other rock gods, and calling the black "Allah" rock a monolithic deity, except he kept Manat and Al Uzza as his daughters. (literal chips off the old black rock)
In fact Mohammad was practicing the rock god tradition of meditating in a cave for a week when he claimed he was attacked by Gabriel the angel, trying to force the illiterate retard to read.
Even the NAME "Allah" is taken from these pagan rock worshippers, it is early Arabic for "the god most high" (Al-ilah t'ala)
pre Islamic Arab culture was very primitive, centuries behind the rest of the world because they were largely cut off from the rest of the world. Although Islamic "scholars" try to paint these early Arabs as blood thirsty murderers before "peaceful Islam" came along, the opposite is true.
They were simple camel herders who lead a simple nomadic life herding their animals following the seasons of the Arabic peninsula, and going on a rare trading caravan into Egypt.
It was Mohammad's Islam that turned them into blood thirty robbers and mass murderers, rapists, pedophiles and slave drivers, sworn to war against all mankind until all the world is "Allah's". Allah made raping and pillaging, murdering and conquering "lawful and good". A perfect god for all the criminal minded.
Who need satire, when the truth is as plain as day.

WASHINGTON — President Obama has a sweeping goal for his speech Thursday in Cairo, Egypt: to begin remaking the dynamic between the United States and Muslims abroad.
He’ll declare a clean break from the Bush administration’s “war-on-terror” approach to foreign affairs and forcefully endorse establishing a Palestinian state.
He’ll talk about his respect for Islamic culture and call for an era of partnering with Muslim nations in areas of common interest, among them curbing violent extremists before they destabilize Muslim nations and threaten the West.
Having publicly demanded that Israel stop building settlements in the predominantly Palestinian West Bank, he’ll also ask Arab nations collectively to recognize Israel’s existence.
