As President, Barack Obama Is A Fleaweight
Start Thinking Right ^ | March 24, 2009 | Michael Eden

Posted on 03/24/2009 5:33:00 AM PDT by Michael Eden

In boxing you have a lot of weight classes, from your heavyweights down to your strawweights (105 lbs).

But in comparing Obama as President to boxers, I don't want to offend any strawweights. Hence, Obama the fleaweight. As a candidate, Obama seemed to be the 800 lb gorilla; as President, he's been far more the 32 milligram flea.

I still think that the polite contempt that Marines showed for Barack Obama ought to be the top story of every media outlet in the country. They most certainly know that their commander-in-chief is a fleaweight.

When a Maxine Waters goes after a Democrat President only two months into his term, something is really messed up in the kitchen. Responding to the fact that Democrat Chris Dodd first lied about having inserted language into the stimulus bill that exempted AIG bonuses, then acknowledged that he actually did insert the language, but had done so at the request of the Obama administration via Treasury, Rep. Waters said:

"They've got some explaining to do," Waters told Joe Scarborough on his WABC radio show Friday morning. "And I think the president is going to have to clarify to the American public what took place between Treasury and Mr. Dodd.

"Obviously, there appears to be some sort of an agreement that they would protect AIG from having to give those bonuses. I don't know who said what and when," she added. "Chris Dodd said he wrote the language but that he was pressured practically by Treasury. Maybe the president is not up to speed on what is going on, but I think it is going to have to be clarified."

I thought Republican Senator Jon Kyl summed it up even better:
SEN. JON KYL, R-ARIZ.: You have the president saying that he takes full responsibility and then saying it wasn't his fault. You have the chairman of the Banking Committee saying well, he didn't put this language in the bill, and then saying, well, he did, but it was because somebody made him do it.
Obama is beginning to reveal that as a president, he is a fleaweight. He doesn't seem to know what's going on. He can't fill his vitally important senior-level Treasury positions. He turned first the $787 stimulus, and then the 9,000 earmark-laden $410 billion omnibus bill entirely over to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to write. She's the real power in Washington. And Barack Obama is either as big of a hypocrite as I figured him to be, or he doesn't have the cajones to challenge Pelosi's agenda.

The AIG bonus fiasco has revealed how incredibly incompetent and out of touch the Obama administration has been. For all the administration's and the Democrat's attempts to deflect attention to "those immoral executives at AIG," the fact remains that it was the government's duty to understand the structure of AIG and known what its fiduciary commitments were. And Obama criticizing the very bonuses that his own administration pressured Sen. Dodd to protect is about as asanine as one can get. After he let the horses out of the barn, he is demanding that someone build a corral.

I watched a movie called Hot Shots last night that made me think of Barack Obama. The power figure was a bumbling incompetent admiral who repeatedly hit his head on something:

In the funniest scene of the movie, the admiral (played by Lloyd Bridges) loses his admiral's cap over the flight deck of an aircraft carrier while the aircraft are taking off during a mission:

Admiral Benson: Holy cow, my cap blew off! Swing around, we'll pick it up.

XO: But sir, we're on the mission!

Admiral Benson: Good thinking, yeah. We'll pick it up on the way back. We've got to mark the spot, though. Put Rabinowitz in a life raft, and have him row in circles until we return.

XO: It could be days.

Admiral Benson: Then put some food in the life raft. For God's sake, man. Do I have to think of everything? We'll tape his favorite shows; he won't miss anything.

XO: Sir, there's no time.

Admiral Benson: Okay! okay! How can I be an admiral without my cap? It's out there somewhere all alone, and I'm here, powerless to do anything about it!

In the real-life version, with the AIG fiasco swirling, Obama sent Turbo Tax Tim Geithner out in the life raft to row in circles (which of course serves as an apt metaphor for Geithner's twisting in the wind) until Obama got back from his mission to California to be on the "Tonight Show" so he could tell host Jay Leno that he basically bowls like some Special Olympics loser - which was obviously an incredibly retarded thing for Obama to say.

Lloyd Bridges' Admiral Benson depended on his admiral's cap for his appearance of authority; I wrote during the campaign on how Obama did much the same with one pseudo-symbol after antother. Obama is no leader; prior to becoming president, Obama had never lead anything. He has to rely on campaign symbology because he has absolutely no actual substance to offer.

During the campaign, Obama repeatedly attacked John McCain for his claim that "the economy is fundamentally sound." After months as president-elect and then as president demonizing the economy as teetering on the brink of the Great Depression, Obama finally got it through his wooden head that McCain had been right to sound positive notes on the economy. And so, after months of fearmongering down the economy, when every economic measure is now actually FAR WEAKER than it was when McCain said it, the Obama administration is now coming out and saying, "the economy is fundamentally sound."

What a fleaweight you are, Obama.

I considered using the term "gnatweight" instead. But given the fact that fleas "are wingless insects whose mouthparts are adapted for piercing skin and sucking blood," I couldn't help but notice the similarity to what Obama is doing to the economy with all of his ridiculous and wasteful government spending that will ultimately bleed this country dry.

I think it is unprecedented in American History that an “Office Of The President Elect” with seal and everything was set up and started issuing edicts.

The arrogance of this dilettante puppet is only exceeded by his stupidity.

I always said Obama shuns 152 votes in the Illinois Senate is either hiding his true Ideology or has a Character Flaw. I think it is the deep Character Flaws showing their evilness now!

Funny how how he’s doing more damage than any heavyweight could possibly do. More like a whaleweight.

Thank you, Wayne. That’s the kind of thing that makes a blogger’s day.

Barack Obama is an incredibly dangerous man because of the position he was given. But we’ve got to have humor in our bag of tools as we take him on. And we’ve got to show that this is one emperor who aint got no clothes on.

Well, he could run it like the Post Office and turn an operation only a fool could screw up into a screwed up operation that depends on massive subsidies year after year.

Which, of course, is another way of saying he couldn’t run a Dairy Queen. With a school on one side and a beautiful park on the other.

No military or for that matter ANY national security (CIA, FBI, NSA etc.) experience.

No business experience.

No executive experience.

No foreign relations experience.

One of the youngest Presidents to have taken office.

A junior Senator who spent half his time on the hill running for President.

Someone with a law degree which academically does not even cover the bases of national security, foreign relations, executive etc. experience.

Not meeting the minimum requirements (past drug use and associations) to serve as a mail clerk for those agencies he now heads.

Here's the irony. We went from a President who came along with a fairly solid track record and performance who was branded negatively in the media and Hollywood to what we have now, who came to us with a resume and past performance record so shallow and weak that it's laughable.

Seriously. If one looks at him in a vacuum and removes all the hype of shivers running up legs as stated in the media, the near concert style convention, the celebrity endorsements, a glimmering and shinny six pack plastered on the cover of magazines of him on the beech, what do you end up with?

Function follows form apparently, at least to the American voter.

He’s doing a lot of damage because he has an incredibly liberal and activist Congress on his side. And, of course, he has a “crisis” to take advantage of.

I don’t doubt that you would agree with me, though, that in hindsight (assuming there’s still a country left to HAVE hindsight), he will be recognized as a tremendous failure with a bunch of truly stupid ideas.

I guess one example would be Carter. Did a lot of damage. But, for example, it was because the Ayatollah recognized what a lightweight Carter really was that prompted him to take such advantage of Carter.

But, dang, I can’t disagree with your statement: the guy is doing incredible damage. As bad as I figured he would be, I still had no idea how much damage would be done so soon.

Obama relies on compulsion rather that persuasion.

If you do do what he says because he said so, he will then try and find a way to force you.

BTW some banks are announcing they will be returning money AFTER the rigged stress tests and then go and recruit the top tallent from the banks that are stuck keeping bailout money.

Unfortunaly we have haleluha free mortgage and free gas woman driving the media coverage.

Because of the ‘jam-throughs’. No one reads the crap, then then they find the screwups..... too late! Posted by: Hugh Hewitt:

That’s Mike Allen’s assessment of a proposed health-care and carbon-tax jam down via the Budget Resolution, an end-run around the Senate’s 60 vote rule, which has previously only been used for tax code changes impacting the budget, not major policy proposals like an overhaul of health care and cap-and-trade.

The best argument against the jam down is in the dismal results of recent past jam throughs.

Last fall the Congress pushed through the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (”CSPIA”) which is causing the needless destruction of billions of dollars of goods and crippling whole industries.

The stimulus bill itself had numerous screw-ups within it, hidden from view and correction because of the speed with which it was advanced.

The AIG bonuses are a result of carelessness and haste on the part of Team Obama.

Imagine what will happen to your health care or the country’s entire economy if the mad dash methodology is adopted for medicine or cap-and-trade.

The Senate should be in full revolt over the stripping away of its institutional role, and the MSM should be mocking the idea that this was ever a president committed to bipartisanship.

The only thing he would have any competency in when running a business is advertising or sales. He seems pretty adept at selling himself and his ideas. To bad he hasn’t got a clue about the other 99% that involves making a business work.

And I think to dovetail on your point he receives his power from the most propagandistic media in this country’s history; one which rivals the Soviet Tass.

His flaws are ignored, and his “strengths” are marketed to the Nth degree.

He had a horrible interview - so bad the interviewer had to ask him if he was punch drunk or something - but is he getting the “Sarah Palin” treatment in the media? No freakin’ way.

The propaganda media has turned a turd into a lump of gold. And they are doing everything they can to keep the American people from getting a chance to give the yellow-painted turd a sniff test.
