Wait...what? Obama Supports Warrantless Mobile Phone Location Records - Fo Shizzle

Remember way back in the dark days of Bushitler 2 when the president wanted to wiretap calls going out of the country and maybe listen in on those suspected of being up to nefarious things? Remember all the squawking and hollering from the left? Yeah, me too. Here's what Obama wants:

The new administration has already sided with the old on the legality of warrantless wiretapping, and is now saying that it shouldn't need a warrant to demand location records from mobile phone providers. This certainly seems like the sort of private info that, under the 4th Amendment, would require a warrant, but not according to the administration(s). It feels that mobile phone providers should freely hand over records of what mobile phone tower any phone was connected to, even without the administration bothering to get a warrant (i.e., whenever and for whomever it wants to keep tabs on).

I for one welcome our new Marxist overlords. (NOT!)

When Osama makes a call here, I want the FBI to be able to go pick up the guy on the US side of the call.

Let’em.

What’s the point of listening to Osama speak to his minions if we don’t know where the guy is on the receiving end of the call?

Just an example. And yes, it’s left wing hypocrisy. At its finest!

Yeah, but since ‘terrorism’ doesn’t exist in ObamaLand, president-NULL&VOID will go after the true threat: conservatives. (Not Republicans since they just want to get along and get fawning approval from the Katy Cupcake Media)

I am glad that the New Administration is following the same footsteps as the previous one on this issue. It makes the same sense now that it did then.

I ignored all of the political chatter about this during the past few years because the policy has worked in making us safe.

This is probably the only thing that the new Administration has done since taking office that has made us safe. The other policies with respect to Russia, Iran and the Missile Defense Systems we won't deploy in the Czech Republic and Poland will not make us safe. Neither will closing the detention center for enemy combatants in Guantanamo make us safe.

It feels that mobile phone providers should freely hand over records of what mobile phone tower any phone was connected to,

And connected to doesn't just mean "made or received a call using the tower." If you have your phone turned on, it has to find the nearest towers and the cell phone company can keep track of that.

The important thing to learn from this is that the Left does what it wants to do and the media protects it. The Republicans ought to do what they want to do and go immediately on the offense when the press attacks.

The press isn't supposed to be in the business of defending one political party.
The press isn't supposed to be in the business of attacking one political party.

The two political parties can work together, or they can attack each other. The press should just report which way that's going, not take sides.

Bottomline: Republicans need to do what they think is right and they need to lash out at the press whenever the press questions them. It's not a level playing field, and being defensive won't win any games.

Yep. Gone already. It appears that even when the zero is far worse than Bush, even the mention of it is not allowed.

Well we’d have to say if that in fact would come to pass. But conservatives are better prepared for that since they don’t view the 2nd amendment as a “man made disaster.”
