I thought readers of this blog would like to read the charming reply Edward Leigh received to his invitation to Sarah Palin to address the Cornerstone Group at one of our forthcoming dinners:
(Excerpt) Read more at cornerstonegroup.wordpress.com ...
She has a load of state business on hand... filling vacant posts, a prolonged legislative session, and the Dems laying their traps at every corner.
Read the comments section:
“As a British Conservative woman, I am at a complete loss to understand why youd invite this woman in the first place?
I know Brits who have been to Alaska (and yes they are conservatives) and they have been less than impressed with her. Now that may be because like me they are mostly female and can see through her winks, nods and gotchas .
There are plenty of other Republican women you could invite, who although not as comely to look at, would at least, bring some real gravitas.
I really think Id like the woman, but not as a politician.”
Sounds like a jealous hack who is probably butt ass ugly and wishes they could look as beautiful as Sarah

Sorry lady, but I'm less than impressed with your “some of my friends” comments. You're entitled to your opinion, I have mine. Conservatives don't knock people based on looks, winks, or nods. Although I thought her debate performance was stellar. I also think her record of accomplishment has been stellar as well. As for gravitas, that's liberal speak for smooth talking con artist. Obama has gravitas oozing out his pores.
That's how I read it too :)
I don’t put too much stock in the comments sections, since anyone, from anywhere can register and leave a comment. Matter of fact, I just submitted my comment.
Whats so special about Cornerstone that they are owed a visit?
I don’t put much stock into either. But it does reveal a fundamental problem Sarah has...she is too damn cute, and insecure women don’t react well to it.
Sarah politely declined. What more could anyone do?
They don't feel like that. Where are you getting that from?
I give kudos to Cornerstone for inviting Sarah in the first place.
“But it does reveal a fundamental problem Sarah has...she is too damn cute, and insecure women dont react well to it.”
I think that is only a “problem” for pro-abortion fanatics (militant feminists), than for women as a whole, and those would not vote for her in any case. From women I know at work and in my family, the ones who are poltical independents are quite positive about her, and republican women are very supportive. Even some of the democratic women I work with acknowledge that Palin got a raw deal during the election, and some have expressed their willingness to take a second look at her if she runs again.
As a British Conservative woman, I am

Obama, “the sophisticated one”, is their kind of guy.
No common sense.
My wife, who is even more attractive than Sarah, LOVED Palin.
I have great pictures of us at her rally in SoCal. My wife is a big Palin fan.
Well. yeah.
"Now that may be because like me they are mostly female... "
She declares she is "mostly female"
My lovely wife and daughter are Sarah's most loyal fans in Arizona.
