The picture’s fake.
There’s an absolute limit to how long individual human hairs can get. It can go past that length, but only as a matted mess.

Some hairs will continue to grow, others will stop waiting to be shed, and new growth will (of course) take years to catch up. That is why untrimmed manes always look thin, pointy and scraggly at the ends I (various stages of growth). Also, people w/uber long hair usually have scalp issues as daily (or frequent) shampooing is time consuming. And I agree...the photo is a fake. The Crystal Gale shot is really her hair...but again, I always wonder why there is such a life committment to having that hair.

There is a limit...BUT...every person has a different limit.
My limit is probably somewhere around 2 feet long. I’ve never tried to find my limit. But there was a few years way back in a galaxy far away, where I tried for long hair and I couldn’t even get my hair to fully cover the back of my collar.
My sister, on the other hand, could grow hair long enough to sit on...EASILY. She even had her hair trimmed regularly and it still kept getting longer.
