In the article a point is made that, as Christians, we must pray for our leaders .with the focus being Mr. Obama.
The posting of this article is to ask a hard question
Why, as Christians would we pray for Obama, "that God will grant you Solomon-like wisdom in all of the decisions you make" when Obama knows the truth and refuses make the correct biblical decisions?
In other words, it would be like the Jews of Germany wishing Hitler well and praying that he would be granted wisdom in his actions to govern the country...we know the price the Jews paid in Germany.
It appears that Christian Pastors of many churches are avoiding the obvious that Obama is not on track with biblical principals you only need to look at his civil rights agenda to understand his biblical viewpoint http://www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/civil_rights/
If this is the case when as Christians do we stop praying for his success and begin the daunting, and necessary task of opposing his secular ideology in-order to take back the country for the glory of the one we serve, Jesus Christ?
We are still called upon to pray against evil.
Why? Well ... would you rather he made stupid decisions with no wisdom behind them at all? My prayers are for this country ... that includes our government officials. I certainly don’t want them left to make decisions on their own without God’s guidance.
I’ll pray for him to turn away from evil, but (expletive), I’ll fight his evil when does it!!
Prayer??? It’s beyond that now.
What we need is a national exorcism!!!!!
You cannot change past decisions, but you can and should pray for him to have the correct judgment in future decisions. If we don't, in the least, pray for him to make the correct decisions, then what right do we have to complain when he doesn't if we can't even do a simple act as praying. I think some are so invested in dislike of Obama, they don't want him to change for the better, they want to keep their figurehead of the opposition.
I agree with the author that Barry Hussein is, presently, dedicated to and wholly given over to evil.
So, according to the author, we should not pray "that God will grant you Solomon-like wisdom"???
Nonsense.
In fact, Zero's evil tendencies are all the more reason that we should pray for him to act wisely ... as he seems unlikely to do.
We should pray for his repentance and conversion.
Why? Because at the end of the day, He is still the potter and we are still the clay. And Barack Obama can do nothing without His permission. We should pray for him (note to self) because he can be swayed under God’s hand.
Oh. For. Cryin'. Out. Loud. Mr. Godwin.
When Barack Obama opens up the gas chambers, try this argument again.
"Christians" need to spend a little more time reading the Word. All throughout the New Testament we're instructed to pray for those in authority. We don't have to like them. Don't have to agree with them. But we do have to pray for them. Look it up.
You might recall that, when those instructions were written, the authorities in charge were the Romans.
Yes, challenge Obama when he's wrong. But let's not lose our heads over a misreading of (or a complete disregard for) Scripture.
I agree with you 100%. Why should we pray for someone who advocates killing the most helpless among us? That certainly is not Christian. My question is, "As a Christian, how could I pray for an agent of the devil?". Even if you have the best of intentions in praying for him, you become an enabler for him and his policies. A lack of protest is seen as agreement by his followers.
I think many of the clergy have long ago lost sight of the true teachings and have succumbed to the liberal "Church of What's Happening Now".
The only leader I’m praying for is a good conservative one to step forward in four years and lead us out of this darkness.
I didn’t realize the country was run according to the Bible. Pretty difficult to do when not even all Christians can agree on exactly what that means.
I’m going to be honest here, and not toe the Christian line everyone else is because I am just not able to yet. I cannot pray for this man as my President. I think he’s a fraud. I cannot pray for him as a leader, because I think he’s an empty suit. I cannot pray for him as a Christian, because I don’t believe that he is. The only way I can pray for this man is as my enemy, which we are commanded to do. So my prayers will be as follows:
1) For mercy and forgiveness for our failings as a country
2) For strength and courage to do right for all those in power
3) For protection from my enemies (this includes Obama)
4) For providential intervention that restores our country to God
I tell you what, preachers. You got a deal.....but, here’s the clincher. In the coming weeks, you have to make your sermons EXCLUSIVELY about Exodus 20:3-6 and Liviticus....starting with 26:1. Better get busy.
I pray that God will give him the experiences he needs to get to heaven.
( Yes, I know that is a mean spirited prayer, and will likely be very uncomfortable for him. )
It will be a cold day in hell when I pray for that POS.
