Not content to just limit their embarrassing comments to the usual inappropriate times, namely while a flag-draped coffin is being unloaded from its journey home, the Taliban-friendly unwashed among us has swarmed to the issue of one Capt. Robert Semrau who has been slapped with a murder charge.

To listen to those who are against our military involvement in the war-torn nation, one gets the impression they feel an investigation and subsequent appearance in court is just a huge waste of time. He’s guilty! Someone died in a war zone! Bring the boys home!.....

Do you have some links as to what this case is about? Haven't heard about it here in the US.

How much does this "Alberta" stuff usually cost, and have you got enough for all the Freepers that want some?

Seriously, though - excellent article. You certainly put the whack on what we would probably call the Green Weenies down here. Not necessarily Greens, but old hippies.

I enjoyed your use of language. It's refreshing to read literate compositions outside of Free Republic.

Of course, you're a conservative, and most of us are literate by default.

Carry on! Continue the whacking in the future!

While there are more conservatives in Canada than it appears (shown by the second-consecutive victory for the Conservative gov’t, albeit another minority), Alberta is definitely the most rightwing of the provinces.

Some say we are the ‘most American’ and always compared to Texas (oil and cows, baby!), and the high number of ex-pat Yankees must have something to do with that.

I’ll give you this - most of the negativity I receive comes from the Eastern parts like Toronto (aka Center of the Universe) and the French (mostly in Quebec.) Traditionally leftwing areas of the country.

Other than that, I’m loved by one and all.
